Hancock - Movie Review

A new superhero on the planet?  Living in L. A.? There are heroes... there are superheroes... and then there's Hancock (Will Smith) - this line was directly from the movie poster. He saves people's lives and has a strong dislike for the wicked. So why is Hancock hated so much? Maybe it's because he a klutz!! OR Maybe because he's an @$$%^(#!!! The guy's just out of control. He leaps over skyscrapers in a single bound at supersonic speed but hasn't found a way to slow it down for the landing. The one-superhero wrecking crew hits like a missile causing some serious damage. He's also a boozer which may be partly to blame for his lack of control. The public has finally had enough - as indebted as they are to have their local superman, the citizens of Los Angeles are wondering what they ever did to deserve this guy. Hancock isn't the kind of man who cares what other people think - until the day that he saves the life of PR executive Ray (Jason Bateman), and the superhero begins to recognize that he may have a helpless side after all. Stressed, conflicted, cynical, and misunderstood, Hancock's well-intentioned heroics might get the job done and save countless lives, but always seem to leave jaw-dropping destruction in his path. He has the impulses of a child but is actually centuries old. It's a harsh, dark, rocky tale of a man on the edge of his own sanity who must come to grips with who he is, whatever that may mean.

I enjoyed Hancock it was a great movie. This is not your typical superhero movie i.e. Xmen, Superman and Iron Man. This is more a comedy superhero movie asking a big question - What if a superhero has problems that affect humans?

Well it's the 4th of July weekend for us Americans and there is only 1 movie opening this week to make the weekend start with a bang!!

I read the reviews... critics weren't friendly to it. My son, however, loved it... and I see that you did also. I'll be checking it out.

Chuck- The storyline could have been a bit better (without a doubt), however, the CGI for this flick were extraordinary! I left the theater thinking there might be a sequel.
