One of the questions that has plagued me since I became a Realtor is not, "How can I serve my clients best?" nor is it, "How can I increase my business?"

It is, "Should I wear a name badge?" Since I got my name badge, I've rarely worn it.

It's a nice badge but I fear that I might look like a fast food worker.  Not that there is anything wrong with working at Captain Hook's Fish and Chips but the profession of real estate agent should be elevated above, "Do you want tartar sauce with your beer battered cod sticks?"

And then there's the dilemma of how many pins should I wear

I have a REALTOR pin, my ABR pin, a GRI pin and another one for At Home with Diversity. And I'm sure there are more.

I fear my pin wearing might go a little crazy.

Don't get me wrong - I am proud to be a REALTOR but not sure wearing a name badge all the time is for me.

I tend to agree Jessica!  I think it does look like we should be asking if they want fries with that.  Plus we work 24/7 essentially, so when do we have it on and off?  I think it would be tacky to do what I did once and forget to take it off at a funeral.  I pay for advertising and sometimes when I'm at the grocery store I just want to be another person getting the milk....

I hate wering a name badge. However, it's important for self promotion. People look at it, it can help them remember your name.

Funny.....A name badge is kinda like me.... acentury 21 agent wearing that old fashioned Gold Jacket proudly.

No Thanks! I don't want to be tipped for pouring someone coffee!

I know I should be "on" 24/7 but sometimes I feel like going to the grocery store in my jammies.  A name badge does not facilitate blending in.  Although, I do think I should wear it more often but just can't bring myself to do it.

I think just wearing one is enough, like Patrick says, it is good for self-promotion. I wear my name badge sometines and as a result, strangers have worked up to me and started a conversation with me like, wha are the mortgage rates like these days?
