Sand Castle Sculpture Competition

Saturday July 12, 2008 11:30 am to 4 pm

Every year Milford hosts it's annual Sand Castle Contest at Walnut Beach in Milford, CT.  Walnut Beach is located in a section of Milford called, Devon.

Participants and spectators gather around just after high tide to enjoy this spectacular event.  Anyone can participate.  You must pre-register to be entered as an individual or as a team by age group.  Simple rules to this contest.  The main goal is to just have fun.  Only beach materials may be used to create your masterpiece in the sand.  Once the contest is over spectators and participants slowly watch the high tide reclaim the beach and their sculptures.

While in the area if you have any real estate questions or would like more information on any properties that are for sale in Milford, please feel free to give me a call at (203) 647-1710.  I would be happy to assist you with all of your real estate needs.

Geroge.. Are you going next week?  I'm planning on taking the boys.. weather permitting.

10:00am • #5

I am going to try to go.  How old are you boys again?  I might be showing a few houses in Newtown and might not be able to go not sure yet.  You will love it  Let me know what you think.

I love it  when they get very creative and make up a sculpture according to a theme like a new movie that just came out or for example someone might have a smart car sculpture.  Someone always has something to sculpt that pertains to current events.  Not sure if you know what I mean....I know you will get a kick out of this event.  I love it!!!!

Tina... How's this.. I want to see how the weather is, and I'll be in touch at the end of the week if you want to meet up.

I'd be interested in knowing how the market is in Newtown, and the surrounding area.  I grew up in Brookfield and lived in Bethel for the longest time.

Valerie that would be wonderful.  Let's touch base at the end of the week.  I am sure if you take your kids that they would really enjoy it.  My kids are teenagers and usually go with their friends.

If you cant make it I will be sure to post lots of pictures here of the scultpures.

Hi Valerie.  I have showings tomorrow up until late afternoon.  I am showing rentals (ugh) from Milford to Madison.  I am hoping to get back in time before it ends.  If I am in Milford before 4 I will call you.  I know you are going to have a great time.  :  )

Tina.. I just worked on rentals (2 of them today).. they are a lot of work for little return.  Good luck tomorrow with yours.

Valerie I totally agree with you about rentals.  But the way the market is agents have to work both rentals and sales.  I am showing 9 rentals all the way to Madison.  Usually get traffic up that way too.  I am not looking forward to it at all.

Low tide starts tomorrow at 1:33 pm.  You are going to love low tide at Walnut Beach, Milford.  I walk the beach every day at low tide.  Walk a total of 2-4 miles on the beaches in Milford.  Have lots of fun tomorrow Valerie!

Tina.. I can't wait.. now that I know that low tide is at 1:30pm I don't have to rush down this first thing.. around 11:am.  I'll take lots of pics and share them with you.

Yes please take lots of pics.  The first time I went to watch I was so amazed at all of the talent.  Again the sad thing is when high tide washes it all away.

Tina.. It never sises to amaze me.  Here I had everything planned around this event, and wouldn't you know I had to change it.  I had to meet a client at noon to write up a contract to purchase a home.  By the time I got out it was 1:30pm.. If I took off then, I would have gotten there and only be able to spend maybe an hour before I would have had to turn around and come back for a 6pm meeting.  UGH!!.  I hope you made it.

Tina... These are GREAT!!  I like the last one the best... sort of sums up what is on peoples' minds the most.

The offer I wrote up was accepted... so I guess I did the right thing.  LOL.
