I have to share this tonight, because the creative juice is flowing and it might be gone in the morning.

Tonight I had the pleasure of having Christoph Schweiger and his family over for a barbecue tonight.  The importance of sharing all this is because we all live in a world where we are all connected to so many people that sometimes we do not even realize it.

Active Rain, Trulia, Facebook, Vimeo, Linked In and many other social networking sites helps keeps us connected with people that we share passions and desires with.  It helps us meet new people, and meeting new people is how I eventually grow my business.  We are all playing that game "Six Degrees to Kevin Bacon" and do not even realize it.  I am sure if you have read Malcolm Gladwell's book "The Tipping Point" you understand what I mean.  If not, let me elaborate further.

I met Christoph thru a mutual client.  He represented the buyer as their real estate agent and I was their mortgage lender.  Christoph turned me onto blogging and Active Rain.  Prior to meeting Chris, I was a traditional networking guy.  Active Rain turned me on to other fellow bloggers, real estate agents and way too many to mention.  Meeting the people on Active Rain made me realize the benefit all these other social networking sites like Facebook, Plaxo, and LinkedIn etc.

So here I am having a barbecue with my good friend Christoph and Jason Sardi from Active Rain calls me tonight.  What a small world.  It's just like that ride at Disneyland.

At my dinner party was also a good friend of mine who met Christoph for the first time.  Maybe there will be a connection or maybe not, but it's interesting how we are all linked.

who's this Christoph guy everyone keeps talking about? :-)

Funny thing is.. I met Chris from the "social networking" world. The first time we met, in person, was at a dinner party...  what a tangled web we weave. :-)

Did someone say dinner?  How did I miss dinner?  I'm hungry.

Hi Gary.  :)

You know, I met Christoph at the first blogging conference Shailesh did.

It is amazing how many people I have met just because of ActiveRain.

Ha!!  That's how I met you!

Happy Summer.

Now, to figure out what to eat, hmm...

Hi Gary!

Re: Online networking: Online is where we find each other and initiate our new relationships. Offline, when the opportunity presents itself, is where we really have the chance to connect on a more personal level and grow our new relationships.

Chris is a great guy. I can't wait to see him again in SF in a couple of weeks.

Stay well.

Rudy- Life is so small how we are so interconnected.  I just visited your A/R blog and noticed the video blog from Patrick Mahony.  Patrick and I have known and done business together in the past.  Its all about the networking.

PS.  I truly enjoy the Trulia platform as well and if you have some hints for my business with Trulia, I would love to hear them.
