When I talk to people who have graduated from college, myself included but that would be talking to myself, I find that many of us have had the same nightmare. It is something on the order of it being the last day of class and you are suppossed to graduate and, at that exact moment, you realize that you forgot to attend a class or to withdraw from a class in a timely manner. Mental anguish, and waking in a cold sweat, follows as you realize your lack of attention to detail will result in not graduating. That dream has not happened to me in years but, since I am now some 30 years out of college, that is a good thing. I would not want to be stuck in the past. Now my nightmares, and night sweats, involve some wacky dream about a home inspection, past, present or future. I will share one, start to finish.

Inspector: King of the House Home Inspection

Prospective client: Hi, I am interested in an inspection, do you inspect fireplaces and chimneys.

Inspector: Sure do, wood stoves, fireplaces, chimneys, B-vents. I look at all of them.

Prospective client: If I hired you, you would do that at my house too, check out everything like that?

Inspector: Sure would, that is part of the job.

Prospective client: Okay, you are hired but you have to guarantee to check the chimneys, vents, fireplace, woodstove. They are very important to me.

Inspector: Deal, see you next week.

Next week arrives. Inspector pulls into the driveway of prospective client's home. The photo below is the nightmare. This vision comes to the inspector in the middle of the night. A cold sweat and a panic attack follow.

Sean,

That would even make Charlie B cringe, manly as he claims to be.

No photo shop. Remember me calling you this morning, while walking in Mt Vernon. I had driven by this spot and had to get a photo.

Also,

Charlie, just because you are a master of special effects....rubber snakes, bait and switch, that does not make all of us that way. Charlie Lucas Spielberg lives!

Barbara,

There is NOTHING wrong here. For a home to have what is considered to be "sufficient" heat it has to have a source of heat in every room. Hence, 31 appurtenances. Charlie B just trys to be the big shot. He knows this is normal in Arkansas or here.

Charlie,

I think that it is apparent that you think normal is over rated.
