Its the time of year that I look forward to all year. A family cabin is opened up and the beauty of the area surrounds me. I usually spend the first week cleaning out the winter cobwebs and shop for supplies. It has become a tradition for one daughter to have her birthday "Cupcake celebration" the first weekend in June. No words can describe the feeling when I'm bringing my family down to the cabin, I start remembering my youth, my nana and her bucket of ice, my papa and his boat and the Beach Olympics for all to enjoy. The smell of the ocean and seaweed squishing between my toes.

It takes an hour from door to door and the whole time I think about how many times I have made this trip. The cabin has been in my family for 5 generations. Its hard to deal with the thought of it not being a part of our lives after 2012. It is on leased land, and our particular area will not be able to renew. It is truly an amazing escape and I am always refreshed upon my return. Aghhh summertime:)

This is such a beautiful area. I am sorry to hear about the lease not being able to be renewed. That is a shame. But I am sure you will find another family vacation spot that you love just as much. - Kim White
