A Favorite Denver Photo - Purple Mountains Majesty

Independence Day in Denver- 2008

Every now and then I try to post a favorite picture or two of the Denver area.

On the 4th of July, I had dinner in Lakewood at a home with a lovely view with my family.

How appropriate that it was our Nation's Birthday.  I believe this is what the the line..."Purple Mountains Majesty" was referring to....

Purple Mountains from Lakewood CO

I have to include this one too from the same location - looking at the famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado.

All those little dots in between the rocks, those are the folks enjoying the Blues Travelers concert at dusk.  I need to go back there with my better camera.

Are you looking for a home in the Denver area with views like this?  Just let me know & we can see what we can do!

Gorgeous photos, thank you for sharing.  I've only seen Denver from the window of a plane, and the airport.  Hopefully, I'll make it there for a visit one day.

Hi Steve, enjoyed your photos!  Love the mountains and snow in and around Denver... as well as WNC.  Thanks for sharing your terrain.

STEVE - I saw the photo before the words, and I was thinking "purple mountain's majesty."  What an amazing photo.  I've never seen a sky that color before.  Thanks for sharing it.

Hope - Although that airport is nice, you need to venture into town.

Susie - Thanks!

Bill - We did & I hope you did as well.

Adam - I can say I am fortunated enough to have seen many a purple sky.

Karen - You are right!

Stacey - I like that one too.  I am going to have to go back with my other camera and get the Red Rocks photos again another time.

Steve, these are nice photos.  Some of my most memorable images of the mountains there were when the lightning storms would stretch across the mountains and light up the night sky.   Sometimes a mountain peak would be back-lit making quite a unique impression on a guy from out of town!  John
