New Orleans Market Rebounds

By
Home Stager with Showhomes

We opened a New Orleans Showhomes office just 3 months before Hurricane Katrina hit. What amazingly poor timing!

The franchise owner, Hudson Wolfe, lost all of his staged homes and a ton of inventoryduring the storm. If that were not bad enough, the real estate market in New Orleans fell flat on its face as the city tried to pick up the pieces and rebuild.

In the last few months, our New Orleans office started up operations again with gusto and has had some amazing sales results. In a market where few homes are selling and buyers are still trying to figure out what to do in a post Katrina world, Showhomes New Orleans has staged and helped sell 4 homes in a row, all in less than 30 days and 2 in less than a week.

Here is a photo from a condo staged in uptown New Orleans this week:

Thomas, I've had the pleasure of meeting both Hudson and Grace and they are fantastic!  I've been trying to get some of my sellers to consider staging as an added value to the marketing of their homes, but it's still so "new" here that I haven't been successful.  I'll keep trying, though!

That is such wonderful news. New Orleans is a magnificent jewel of a city, and it needs all the polishing it can get right now. So glad to hear the market is rebounding.

And the pic of the staging job is insanely goregous! I am partial to peacock feathers, I have to admit, and the color scheme is stunning!
