Hyannis Fireworks

I was completely shocked and disappointed that the powers that be decided to hold the Hyannis fireworks to there original scheduled time on Saturday night.  It was a complete waste of time and money.  The weather just was not going to hold off.  All day the weather stations were reporting clouds and rain.  There was a torrential downpour at 7pm that didn't disappear like a tropical shower instead it lingered for an hour.  Frankly more confusing was after they fired off the first few they could easily tell that no one could see them.  The extent of the show was bright colored lights lightening up the clouds.  They should have stopped at that point and rescheduled.  Fireworks are not cheap and I'm sure the town doesn't condone throwing money away but really what a waste.  I understand all the police would have to be rescheduled and that would be a great expense but they should have cancelled them at 2pm like Wareham and others.

Ted, I can imagine your disappointment...that is similair to what happened with the Falmouth Fireworks last year...No doubt you made the best of it with a few beverages perhaps..
