"Most Bloggers blog for about three months and then they abandon their blogs".

(right about now, I am praying that I did the link correctly).  If not here is the link to YouTube - Blogging Evolution.

I know that there are times that I have not one thing to say.  Well, maybe I actually can't say that I don't have anything to say, I just question on if what I have to say will matter.

I know that I love Real Estate and I have grown to love blogging.  I find that not only is it a great way to advertise, but it is such a great educational tool. So, for me blogging is a win win situation.  I have even noticed that some of my associates from around my town have started to blog and I commend them for going out on the limb.  I don't know what took them so long to jump in.  But here is the thing - they are not blogging regular or not at all.  They set up their profiles and then - that was it.

I know I have said it once before and I know that people will say different things about blogging.  Some will think it is great and some will think that it is well, just a fad.  I beg to differ - Being in my 11th month of actual daily blogging, I have obtained 3 listings, pending a sale one of the three so far.  I have currently 6 buyers that I am working with that are serious buyers and I have a closing next week on the buy side.  Currently, I am also talking with two others that are thinking of selling. So, I have generated money from my blogging efforts.

I will admit, blogging sometimes feels like I am getting up to speak to thousands (ok, 2, 3 people) and I can become a bit reserved.  But the fact of the matter is I still blog  almost everyday!

I am not a numbers gal.  I am not a graphs gal.  I wish I was a better photographer and I am  not sure I love talking about where the market is going, because that to me is alot of speculation and opinions.  Although I don't feel that the economy is in the best of shape, I feel that buying a home is for personal reasons and should be treated as a home, not an ATM.

So, within the next few months, I am sure that we will see alot of new bloggers out there and we will see alot of old bloggers leave -it has become the survival of the wittiest!

Hey NY Chic aka Christine...

I had no idea so many people were dropping out of the Blogging Game. I guess is will morph into whatever us Bloggers morph it into :)

AR keeps changing the you tube code thingy. If what BB showed you does not work sometimes then copy and paste the whole thing from you tube. It seems to be only one of the other is working.

TLW...ROAR!

It's not just blogging - it's nearly everything in life. Very few people follow through on anything with determination and persistence.

I haven't faded yet.  I haven't started to blog.  I've just been answering them.  I used to want to answer every blog that came up, but now I find it hard to respond to ten in a day. Either too busy, too tired or not interesting.  Hope that this isn't a sign of fading away.

Christine.. this is interesting.. I had no idea so many blogs were being dropped..No question blogging is time consuming.. It is also harder then you think when you first start.. The idea may be there but the editing takes me forever.  I don't know if I have talent but it keeps me off the streets at night....

Just saw the video thanks Brian.  Hummm Music, food, politics and 100,000,000 blogs.  It appears to me that AR has an active following and those that have nothing to say or comment on will eventually go the way 70,000,000 other bloggers.  Its still going to take me some time to read the 30,000,000!!!

Looks like there is a very high drop out rate.  Those who have perseverance will succeed!  It is sort of the same thing that make one successful in Real Estate.  Nice blog -- and keep on blogging.

Even here at AR I see a lot of people who blog for a short while and then stop.  Blogging is a great way to reach out to the consumer, I have gotten calls as a direct result of doing this, no sales yet but there is potential.

Christine congratulation on your success.

If you watch the evolution of AR, you'll see this exact thing happening.  I watch it locally as well.  People who suppossedly have blogs and their last posting was almost a year ago and they've posted all of twice.

Thanks for the link  that was a really interesting report. They are right, to write well take effort. It is hard to imagine 100,000,000 blogs. But is wonderful to be a part of it all.

First - I want to thank you Broker Brilliant!  Bryant.  Seriously, I learned yet again from blogging!   Woo Hoo!

Secondly - I agree with Sharon Simms - It is everything in life that people will try and if they don't suceed within the first week - BOOM they are gone!.  People get into real estate thinking that there is millions waiting to be taken by them - when they come to realize that real estate involves hard work, long hours and days of rejection - they just bail out.  Sharon, that is a great point you brought up!

SEnthil kumar - ummm - thinking I don't know how to reply to ya... I guess I will thank you for the great pic.??

Hey thanks for sharing this. I am OVER the 3 month hump and I have TONS more to yap about... NOW if only I had the time.

One of the things I think was helpful for me here on AR is the fact that I had an audience I was sharing with. I just didn't send it out on the big WWW in the hopes that someone out there MIGHT read it.

In the begininning the AR AUDIENCE ghelped me see and define more clearly my blogs purpose.

Folks who work AR will benefit.

Folks who don't, won't.

We do and we will.

Survival of the wittiest... love it!  Great turn of phrase!.  It is my belief that "bloggin" is jsut like any other physical exercise.  The more you do it the smoother it becomes.  It's not necessary to write prize winning blogs daily.  Afterall, this is a voluntary site and participation is not manditory.  But if those who flash and burn in the bloggusphere perhaps we would nto only enjoy their presence longer but the quality of their work would improve.....

Christine, What a great post and a great reminder to "mind" your Blog...I think being on AR really helps us out a lot...seeing the benefit of blogging and like Lenn says "Folks who work AR will benefit. Folks who don't, won't."

How true!

Good job, you got it up. I know...it was a challenge for me, too when I put on one my outside blog. Interesting info on how bloggers are falling off...just like Realtor are falling off, too.

Blogging does take a committment.  Some days it just seems hard to find something to write about!  I think initially we put some much thought into what to write, when it should come more naturally.  I'm still struggling with the Nike phrase, Just Do It!

Hi Christine - it is work, at times, and other times, it just flows.  I can see how some do it for a few months and then abandon it.  I know I've neglected a blog I have on another platform because I just can't seem to find enough time in the day for all that needs to be done.

Good post!
Ann

I have to think that the drop out rate is the same phenomena that causes folks to abandon other marketing or prospecting avenues. "Oh, I tried mailing postcards once, but I didn't get any listings or sales off of it, so I stopped." Often people simply quit too soon.

The web traffic and client calls I have gotten as a result of my blog is priceless. The more I do it, the more often I find myself on the front page of Google. I see my web hits going up, and of course its a numbers game. The more people that end up on my website, the more possibility of them registering, and so on. I am committed to this, and I am so glad I was invited to AR

Good post, Christine. I guess I feel the same way much of the time. Sometimes it's easy, sometimes not. I know I always have some thoughts on issues but not always sure it is somethng I want to voice. But I really enjoy the writing and commenting, and the thought behind it, and for me that is what is most important.

Christine the bottom line is it's working for you. It's hard to keep up with it, I feel the same way. I don't think only the wittiest will survive. You love real estate and it comes out on your blogs. Like the guy said on the video the ones with focused content will survive. I think as long as it's about real estate and our local markets clients will find us.

Hello Christine - Inspiring post. I would imagine that most view Active Rain and blogging in general much as I do; I do it to add value for others, express my ideas, and to find new clients and referral partners. Blogging really is a win win.

Thank you,

James

Hi Christine,

This network is definitely a commitment and not for the people who are looking for a quickie.  It's a community of real people and there are relationships being forged with each other as well as the public.  Thanks for reminding us!

Lol.....Blog today.....gone tomorrow. A blog a day keeps the clients at bay? Hey, I need to write a commercial for blogging. What do you think?

Great post. I at times find myself wondering what I should blog about. It's definitely time consuming.
