Save any Document as a PDF File for Transfer...this Tech Tip may help.

Ever need to transfer a document electronically and want it to look like the printed version? Well, you will need to have it formatted as a .PDF file.

Quick Tip:

What are .PDF documents?

.PDF stands for Portable Document Format. It is a distribution format that creates and protects the format of a document so it will look exactly like a printed version and can be transferred and viewed on various computers.

It's a distribution format developed by Adobe Corporation. To view .PDF files you will need to have Acrobat Reader. Click here to download and install, Adobe's download page.

Here it is...It's FREE, FREE, FREE.

If you have a document, a file, that you need converted to .PDF go to CutePDF to download for FREE or use this link http://www.cutepdf.com/products/cutepdf/writer.asp.

Hope that saves some of you a lot of time and aggravation.

Thanks for the info on cutepdf.  I had a trial version of the Adobe package but hadn't purchased a full version yet.  I've also uploaded them on express copy as well.

I didn't know this was out there.  What a good solution to document storage - thanks.

Thanks, Trey.  I use pdf format all the time.  We scan ours currently and, of course, pdf documents are only as good as the scanner.  I'll five cutepdf a try.  The ability to convert documents like this will save me wasted steps to the office scanner.  Oh! How am I going to make up for that lost exercise?

Trey~  How are you my new "facebook" friend?  Thanks for the tip.  You have to have a scanner to do this right??  I guess I don't quite understand how this cutpdf thing works...

Thanks for educating them!

I'm using PDFCreator... also does the same thing.  To take it a step further, get PDF Annotator and a Tablet PC and have docs signed on the tablet... never make the print... email it, recieve it, sign it.  Be paperless.

I love using Adobe for all my scanning needs - it gets even better when you have the full Acrobat program and can modify files as needed. Very helpful!
