As staging homes becomes more of a reality in our more competitive market, I have seen many new companies spring up to service the upper scale market, but are there any that specialize in smaller less expensive homes that would be price appropriate. Many of these homes need the help even more. If anyone knows of any companies in this market, please post. This would be valuable information

2 Comments on Staging in less exspensive Markets

I'm glad I found this post. I was actually looking into this as a business opportunity.  I think that this really is an untapped market, people who can't afford a full-scale staging but nonetheless would benefit from having a consultant come in their home and help them get it ready to show by helping to unclutter and reaccessorize.

The majority of properties can benefit from staging, regardless of the home's size or price point. In the current market, staging can definitely help a house stand out from its competition. Most stagers provide a variety of services and can work with any (realistic) budget. Consultation is the least costly option if a seller is motivated and willing to do the work them self. The stager provides a written, detailed report outlining no cost or low cost ways to improve the look of the home. In our area, costs are generally $200-$300 for this service. When it comes to staging a vacant house, furniture and accessory rental costs are usually the largest expense. Obviously, a smaller house will require less furniture and accessories, so costs can be minimized. Other ways to limit costs include only staging key rooms on the first floor of the house.
