I was just curious to see what your office policy is... Do you allow outside vendors in to speak at your meetings?

For the last 5-6 years my office has been delivering vendor presentations (We call them "Talks") at real estate offices in our area (Los Angeles County).

I've noticed over the years that we speak at many of the same offices and that certain offices are not interested in having outside vendors attend their meetings.

We will usually sponsor the meeting by bringing a meal for everyone or a door prize for a drawing (Such as a gift certificate to Home Depot, etc.) and we always try to speak about a topic that is educational such as what issues we are finding on foreclosed homes, any new recalls, codes, new city ordinances, etc.

Please let me know how your office operates. Do you allow outside vendors in to speak at your meetings? Do you prefer they bring fod, etc.? If you do not let outside vendors in, what is the reason that you prefer not to have them speak?

THANKS FOR THE FEEDBACK! (and let me know if you are in Los Angeles County and would like us to speak at your office meeting!)

Well, John, about once a month we have an outside vendor.  A bank, or home warranty company, home inspectors, septic tanks,  or magazine vendors.  We are in NJ, but they are popular in our office.  Our owner/broker likes us to attend, and most of us do.  Of course, to get the realtors there, you do have to feed them!

We do have outside vendors. Usually banks, Mortgage Companies, Inspectors, etc. They do bring food and sometimes giveaway items. We had one today and it was a new bank. They offered a radio show where we get to talk for an hour. i liked that idea.
