It's finally raining in Maui!

 

I am sitting at the up desk in The shops at Wailea at our main office at The Wailea Group .I look up and it is just pouring rain. It has been really dry for months.  Wailea is actually desert area but with all the irrigation it is always lush and green.  With five world class golf courses they are kept in top shape and looking good it reminds me of sound of music with the rolling green hills. Actually in the evening you will some times see deer coming down to the golf courses to dine on the greens and have an afternoon drink. Wailea has been busy with the tourist industry.

We have a few clebs in town Sugar Ray Leonard and one of the main actors from White Chicks with the Wayman Brothers who played Terrell; By the way it is a really funny movie if you did not see it.  So I am sitting here writing an offer on one of our projects and really enjoying a fresh rain. The north shore which is the rainy side of the island and my home for over 30 years has been really dry.  I have had to bring in mulch for my fruit trees and tropical flowers to keep them healthy.  So it's a great day on Maui and I am loving the rain.

Absolutely love that area, stayed in Maui Meadows before and loved walking through Wailea.  Congrats on the rain, someday I'll be your neighbor.....that is the goal anyway.  Glad to see you on here.

Steve - Yesterday was a rain day here as well it was raining so hard at one point that cars were pulling off the road because they could not see. unlike you we have had a fair bit of rain and have only had to water the lawns once so far this year.

In the news Kathy in the mid west the flooding has been crazy. We are just getting light tropical rains. When I left Wailea and headed home to Haiku it had not been raining.

Funny thing Pete,

I was working in Wailea and it just started pouring rain. Then when I was driving home I left Wailea and it stopped in Kihei. I do believe we are having weird weather patterns this year. Haiku is really dry, we usually get evening rain.
