Make that two helpful employment announcements for Las Vegas within the last month or so.
First it was Wynn Resorts' recent announcement that they would begin hiring for approx. 5,300 jobs in July 2008 to staff Encore (expected to open on the Las Vegas Strip in December).
Recently, Station Casinos joined the hiring fun by announcing they are now accepting applications to fill approx. 1,000 new jobs at their upcoming property, Aliante Station.
People are seeking jobs in Las Vegas
Both Wynn Resorts and Station Casinos have said that they have been bombarded with applications. MGM MIRAGE has announced that they expect to start the hiring for approx. 12,000 new jobs for their upcoming $9.2-billion CityCenter mega-resort sometime in 2009. MGM MIRAGE has said that they too, expect a large amount of applications.
A lot of excitement on the way
Las Vegas is adding literally billions worth of amenities, restaurants, luxury condos, retail, shows, and nightclubs to its famous Las Vegas Strip and surrounding areas. Even better, tens of thousands of jobs are being created because of it.
While the Las Vegas real estate market (both single family home and luxury high-rise condominium) has taken a beating, the media has focused on as much negative as they can find. Hopefully, the tens of thousands of new jobs on the way will open a few eyes, as well as comfort a few pocket books.
