We recently headed up north going through the Santa Barbara area (which is still burning) and then through different areas around Big Sur and Sacramento. We met several families whose home were destroyed by the fires that are still burning and have jumped fire lines into Paradise,CA. Even going through the 2007 fires in San Diego is apparent to us that people are still not as informed on how to prepare before a disaster strikes. It breaks my heart hearing these stories and the hearing "I wish we would have done this", or " I wish we would have been prepared", or the worst is " We never thought it would happen to us".
