Posting To Localism?

By
Home Inspector with H.I.S. Home Inspections (Summit, Stark Counties)

I don't mean to sound dumb, but I have been wondering about this new Localism everyone is talking about. Is this going to be something that is only for realtors? Or can a home inspector post there too?

I understand there is going to be some "staking out territory" taking place on July 31? How does one stake out a territory? If someone else in your 'territory' already has a blog, does that mean that you can't?  Anyone have some answers?

I don't post most of my blogs to localism ... only the ones about the area or advertisements of listings. You you write an advertisement blog and post to localism it could show on a google search.

I shouldn't have to pay for it at all. What, are we becoming Point 2 Agent now? They keep wanting me to buy neighborhoods.

Well, I hope someone has an answer. I have not been on the site to regularly of late, and I did see this mentioned, but I was not sure what is up. From Leslie's comment and some other things that I read, it seems that there will be a fee invovled.

I don't know if a fee is automatically involved, or some kind of "upgrade". I wish someone had some answers.

I'm also interested in hearing about this and who can post.  I tried to post a local blog that included the information from the local printer and then I went to try and find it on localism and could not locate it.  If it only lets articles for real estate listings to post that's going to be a bumer....

The best I can tell, Localism is for consumers. I read on the site somewhere that you can "stake" out communities and be the positioned as the expert. According to their web site: Sponsorship fees range from $7.50 to $15 per month per community, depending on the number of communities sponsored.

Personally, I'm not sure I'm ready to have them into my wallet just yet.

I am not commenting on buying neighborhoods but I post the majority of my blogs to localism. As you determine where to send a blog, note that it comes up as sending them to consumers. Then you keep clicking the boxes if you want to make it specific. It goes, something, like this: general, state specific, county specific, city specific, neighborhood.
