DURHAM FARMER'S MARKET

DURHAM, CT

valerie osterhoudt

A few weeks back, I went to a farmer's market in Durham, CT.  The open market is located right on the green in front of the townhall, and is open EVERY Thursday from 3 to 6pm.

Here you can get raw milk at the Deerfield Farm booth... yes, raw milk.  I haven't had this since I was 8 years old.. my son thought it was cream, and devoured it.

If you are looking for fresh (I mean just picked fresh) organic herbs, look no further, they are here too.

For all you sweet tooths, there is HOMEMADE ice cream with very original names.  John and Peter of 80 licks, let me try some, and you will not be disappointed.  For all the dog owners, here is an added plus... they have PUP ice cream.. just for your furry friends.. that too, is homemade.  How can you go wrong.

Come on down (no this isn't the Price is Right), and enjoy an afternoon with friendly vendors and get back to basics.  I'm going back again this afternoon... maybe I'll see you there.

The Farmer's Market sounds like a great place to be.  I would like to try some of that raw milk.  Of course, the homemade ice cream sounds good too...  :)

Debi.. The raw milk is awesome.  You know the little creamers that you get at resaurants for coffee?  This raw milk is thicker than that, and sweeter.  Naturally sweeter.

Cheryl.. Thank you for the wonderful comment.  People moving are always looking for things going on in the area where I live and work, that I thought everyone on AR should be able to see what is going on too.

George.  I went there again today.. spend $100 on all sorts of things.  Milk, beef, yogurt, vegetables, herbs, etc.  My hands were loaded with things.  I'm looking at it as though I am helping the economy.. not emptying my pocketbook.
