** SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT for Summer Reading Program 2008 **
Believe it or not, summer vacation is halfway over! Children have just a
little over a month left to *Catch the Reading Bug* and complete their library
reading logs before the Reading Bug flies away at 5:00 P.M. on Saturday, August
16th.

Click here to find out more about the summer reading program at the Virginia Beach Public Libraries.
How to complete the program:
For every 10 minutes you spend reading, or being read to - mark or color one honeycomb on the reading log. Reading includes: books, magazines, webpages, listening to books on tape or CD and listening to someone read to you.
- Six honeycombs equal 1 hour. Three of the honeycombs are freebies.
- If you would like a special bug sticker, a bookmark, and information about special events, take your log to your library. Check out some books, too!
- When you have reached the midpoint (30 honeycombs equaling 5 hours), you may take your reading log to your library and receive fun prizes.
- Bring your completed log to the library, by 5:00 p.m. Saturday, August 16, to receive special prizes and a book of your very own.
Catch the Reading Bug! My son has and he LOVES getting the stickers on his sheet for each 10 minute period he reads. The prizes are a great motivator too!
