Segway comes to Charlottesville

Well actually to Old Trail, located in Crozet Virginia.

The town center has announced that Segway will be opening a store in the Old Trail town center.

This is great!

If you have read my blog you know that this development has both sidewalks and trails.

Many people have already discovered that Segway PT's are a fun, ultra-economical and environmentally friendly way for today's urban commuter to get around town!

Not to mention GOLF!!!

Soon you will be seeing folks zipping along on their Segway with ZERO emissions!

Have you seen the off-road versions of the Segway?

What fun! I want one too!!!

I looked into these for farming, but found it would be more of a gimmick and people wouldn't take me seriously.

I could see a neighborhood (especially with Golf) take this seriously!!!

So can you take them for a test drive, zip around town for a few hours before buying one? I've never ridden one, but I've seen them. I'd like to try it. Don't they sort of remind you of something out of a Sci-FI flick?

The store opens in Janurary of 2009, I want a test drive too!!!

While Segway is a great replacement for cars to get to work, let's hope that they don't replace walking all together!!!

Maybe I am a grump but I wish people would walk or bike more!
