Okay, I look pretty happy here about jumping into the ocean for a dive at Molokini crater off Maui. But, before any dive, I always feel a little trepidation--this dive into blogging included!
I guess I should introduce myself and give a little background:
I was actually one of the first home stagers to set up a profile in Active Rain. I was even the featured one from my area before Active Rain caught on. My business also caught on--so much so that I was over my head in work, submerged in running my business, unable to surface until now!
Like they say in diving, the first rule is: breathe!
My previous career was in advertising, so you wouldn't think blogging would be very scary! As the Executive Creative Director, I ran the Creative Department and honed my critiquing skills. You learn to be diplomatic when your staff refers to cutting copy or revising designs as "killing babies."
I opened RE:STYLE in September of 2005 and since then it has gone swimmingly! I was fortunate to be able to stage some houses that were shown on HGTV's "National Open House"--I even got in the credits! After the first house I staged (a vacant) sold to the 3rd person through--after previously having 65 showings and no offers--I was hooked, and so was my Realtor.
Since inception, RE:STYLE has staged nearly $25 million in SOLD! real estate.
It's a big ocean out there...
So enough about me! Just like diving, it's all about what you see out there in that vast blue space that makes the experience memorable and exciting. I'm very interested in you--your observations, questions, challenges, examples, successes and learning experiences. I hope to have all of you as a sounding board and a resource, and I will provide the same for you. We can "buddy breathe" through any problem, and share this adventure into the real estate industry together!
