I dont' know about you, but I learned today of now 10 new free websites to market myself, my listings..me in general.

As a self proclaimed techno phobe I have only one issue with this. Not only is this technology making us chair sitters with extra tires around our middles, but we're losing our effectiveness in communication.

It's still vastly important to lead generate, not via email or blog, but by picking up the phone and establishing that trust relationship. Thay way when you actually meet face to face, you don't sound boring or inept at your craft.

We have to stay busy of course and this technology is enabling us to do it at lightning speed. But I can't tell you how frustrating it is to leave a voice mail for an agent and then receive an email as a reply 10 hours later. Not because they cannot pick up the phone..they just choose not to. Let's not become so self centered in our business that we lose site of the fact that being able to say the right words, (Via the DISC system if you choose) or speak clearly (so the common man understands what you're saying) or putting on the old acting face and being enthusiastic or cheerful when we're not, is the key to making friends. And if you can't make "friends" with your clients and build rapport, then you're dead in the water.

Technology is amazing..but it's becoming too easy. Let's not be lazy. Let's actually have a phone or face to face conversation. Pound the pavement, meet someone new. You practice your blog, why not practice speaking as well.

For those of you who are really uncomfortable, a networking group like Toastmasters might be helpful.

Let's not be the Voiceless Crowd..and above all don't let technology let you lose touch with reality.
