For those who don't know what a Sweat-Hog is, don't worry it's not a derogatory phrase. A SWEATHOG is a real estate professional that went through Floyd Wickman's Sales Training prior to 1999 when he sold it to RealNet.

I recall Floyd saying that Sweathogs stick together, and in the old days it was kind of like and exclusive society for agents that "got it". I started this group to see if I could revive the old Sweathogs network on Active Rain, so if you are a Sweathog, I'd love to hear from you.

Here is the link to join the Active Rain SWEATHOGS Group.

In fact, you are a true "old school"Sweathog, all you have to do is complete this phrase in the comments below: "SWEAT" -

I remember it quite well. Paul Starner was my trainer and he was a beast. I learned so much from him. I could use some more of that right now. I took it when i was at Coldwell Banker.

Floyd taught my class primarily, but also had trainers Mike Pallin, and I beleive Ed Escobar (who now owns the SWEATHOGS program).  All of our trainers were superstars.

Let me know what you need and how I can help you.  We actually do a fair amount of business in Michigan (we seem to get a lot of online leads from that area).

Hi, I took the program in 1994 as a Broker/Owner along with 6 of my salespeople.  I have since retired after 39 years and am looking for the workbook used in the Sweathog program.  If you have one, I would pay you for a copy.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Don

Hi Don, I actually don't have any of the training materials either. I took my course back in 1995 and if I am not mistaken, I gave it to another agent some time ago.  To me, they would be collectors items, so I will let you know if I come across anything.

I took that class back in the late 80's. Very good advice. I don't remember how to complete your phrase, though. But I still use some of the things I learned.

Thanks for stopping by Leslie. You will laugh when you read this. The second part is "HOGS" (as in, SWEAT-HOGS).

Feel free to join the Sweathogs group on Active Rain to network with like minded professionals.

Old Sweathog here. When I was recently in management I brought in Floyd's new program the "SMART" program. The instructor was Steve Caudle. If you go to Floyd's website you can get more info. It got great results in my office. I recently transferred to Remax and Steve is doing a presentation for our office in August. Check out the program and Steve. It's a lot of the old Sweathog techniques but it's also modernized for the current market. Best of both worlds!

Jule, thanks for being the first to complete the phrase.

I remember meeting Ed years ago as he taught one of our sessions. If you have any materials  - I would love to get my hands on them just as a refresher :-)

Have a good one and let me know if you need anything.

Hi There!

It's great to see that Floyd's Sweathogs are rreminiscing! I too am a sweathog. I took the program in the mid 90's. I followed it and Floyd for my entire sales career. As a matter of fact I loved it so much that I decided to pursue a career as one of Floyd's trainers with his company, The Floyd Wickman Team. I was lucky to have been chosen and personally trained by Floyd. I'll let him know that I found you guys. Good luck!

HOT_DOG!!!

Hey just wanted to let everyone know that Sweat -- HOGS is alive and well. I'm currently in the course and man it's an eye opener.Ed Escobar is our trainer this guy is truly amazing! He recently worked a deal with Jim Weichert to do a training course for the company we've got 200 agents participating from my region. It's definitely got me motivated again and it's a fantastic course. After 6 years in the business I've seen my production on the increase in a short time I do recommend that the alumni re-take the course when it's back in your area. Its changed alot from what I hear. Well, good luck to you all I'm definitely proud to be a HOG!!!

Wickman is the master

Oh wow! What memories. Sweat-Hog! I gotta say, no one does it like Floyd. He is the master! I took Sweat Hogs years ago. Floyd sold that compny for a reason, things change. I just finished The Floyd Wickman Program. This is the program that Floyd Wickman owns now. It is truely amazing! No comparison, much better than sweathogs. I don't mean any disrespect to sweathogs, but man o man has my life turned around from the new program! Floyd has out-done himself this time! Thank you Floyd Wickman Team!

LoL Anthony - we took sweat hogs training in 1999 - best advice we ever got was to try and maintain at least 30 listings/buyers combined going at all times in our business to keep revenue constant!

Sincerely,

Grace

Do any of you remember the affirmation? I AM A MASTER SALESPERSON!

It was the best real estate training I could have ever received 2009 is going to be a great year. I can't wait.

I took the "Sweathog" course here in Charlotte in the fall of 1988. Best money I ever spent in getting my 22 years real estate business started. Times were different then in regards to "cold calling" but it was fun. I would like to find the old cassettes in CD form now. I have the old cassette tapes but need them now in CD form. Help Somebody!

Sorry, I have not been able to personally reply to each of you.  It has been a busy season with lots of new and exciting plans for 2009.  I am so glad to see others sharing their experiences.  I was blessed to have a call with Ed Escobar a few weeks back and I got a hold if his "35 Greatest Closes". If you don't have, it - get it.  If for nothing else, you will have flashbacks when you hear the dialogue with Mr. Wojcziewski.

Be like Ed... collect closes and you will win the sale more times than your competitors!

Anyone who is interested in purchasing Sweathogs CD's, Ed Escobar's "35 Greatest Closes in North America" CD or Ed's "No Excuse Listing Workshop" CD or DVD, please call me at 610-608-3843. This is Ed Escobar, Master Salesperson and co-founder of the original Sweathogs Program.  Accept no substitutes.

Oh, man, I still have the shirt with all my stars!  I took the course in '96 - drove hundreds of miles from my office in eastern Washington to Portland, Oregon, through the dead of winter, snow, freezing rain - all the nasty Columbia River Gorge weather.  I credit the course for teaching me how to hit the ground running.  Million dollar club in my first year.  Instead of other credentials, I put S.T.A.R behind my name on my business cards.

I've been out of the biz for a long time, but I recently ran across all my materials.  Unfortunately, they were left on the west coast when I moved to the east coast.  And now I need info from the notebook.  Can anyone tell me the steps in the listing appointment?  I want to apply those steps in some political speechifying I'll be doing in the future.  Please send 'em to gene (at) teaparty2010.org

Thanks in advance!   *Weeeeee are making it haaaaaappen*

Hot Dog, everything is normal.

I took Sweathogs 3 times in Houston from 1987 to around 1994. I use Floyds material every day. I own a real estate office & still use the basics of what Foyd taught. I have the original binders, many agents left the business & I gathered up the Sweathog binders they left behind. Remember the bakers hats you had to wear if you did not get a listing?

The Wickman group made it a lot of fun. I remember Gary as my first trainer, he was good. Later I got a chance to actually meet Floyd in Houston. I view him as my mentor for the past 23 years in the business.

I took the course in 1995 in Richmond Hill Ga. I have my Team Leader plaque and my Certificate on my wall right now.  This was the BEST class I have ever taken that tells you how to sell real estate. I remember that I had 12 closings and 13 listings during the course!

If you find one on these manuals I would be interested in buying one as well. Someone stole mine out of my office!

I took a Floyd Wickman "Sweathogs" program in the 90's and found the program very beneficial in my career.  I gave my program to a family member (who is no longer in the family) after I retired.  Now my son has gotten his RE license and I am looking for the program.  Does anyone have one they are willing to sell?
