HELLO ALL YOU RURALISTS!

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams

Just for the sake of my own curiousity, I would like some comments on the state of your rural America. How do you feel about living life in the slow lane?

If you commute to work, how are the gas prices treating you?

Is there any way to really make money from the comfort of your own home?

Are your rural town populations flocking toward the city to save not only on gas but to have more of a choice on grocery and sale items?

How has your life changed because of the economy, and how do you think the next president will change things?

Let's sound off for the night.......

I know that I am not the only one suffering from the blast of everythings price increase. What do you think?

WHAT"S UP WITH THAT?????????

I live in rual Idaho. I commute to work 25 miles two days a week and work the rest of

the time from home or out and about in the communtiy. Gas is killing me, but I do

really well working from home. I do lots of community things, chamber, senior center and

etc. that has worked out to alot of deals for me. We are a ag communtiy so people are

staying put for the most part but it is hurting us for new people moving in. The next

president scares me to death. We need to come together as a county and make our

leaders listen to the needs we have, we have had it too easy in the past years and

just let things run on auto pilot and now we need to get involved.

THANK YOU Sandy!

I know all about the people moving out of rural towns. What makes it worse is that they want to save so badly, they are not hiring a realtor.

If there was some way to let them know that they would probably make more money on their sale if they did use a realtor while boosting the local economy, I sure would be a help to us all!

I live in the country, and work from the home office a lot.  It works for me.  But that's just me.  Gas and food and things are very high here, so it's important to pay attention to the cost of things.  Even the cities are not really that big, so a lot of folks here are rural, but we like it that way.

I'll bet you do like staying home. I could become truly jealous of working from home in a tropical paradise.

Hello Leonard Team!

Do you know why your blog was given the "Red X"?  I thought it was a good question to put out there!

I live just outside the I-285 Perimeter in Atlanta and work from home.  (running my Virtual Assistant Company)  I honestly don't know how people commute the 1 hour drive from Alpharetta or Loganville or Douglasville to downtown Atlanta.  I would go crazy!

Yes, there are ways to make money working from home!  You can start a business, telecommute or ask your company to let you work from home 2-3 days a week!  I've done all 3!

Being farely new to the blogging system, I am unfamiliar with the big red X and have no idea why I get them. I am not scared though, unless I am supposed to be. I am all for talking about real and tangible issues.

Do tell what is a big red X ?

People think I live the country as I live in Barrie, it is 1 hour directly north of Toronto on Lake Simcoe.

There are 155,000 people here so I don't think it is the country but everyone's perception is different.

Farm fields with horses and cows etc. are just a minute drive outside of town.

Our city is experienceing a exodus of sorts due the price of gas. Approximately 35,000 cars a day leave our city every morning to drive 1 hour away to work in Toronto. There are over 1,000 houses for sale in Barrie right now. The Realtors are experiencing a glut on the market but the savvy ones know to hire a Stager to get the house noticed and sold. When there are 3 or 4 on every street for sale, sometimes the same model- it is a good investment to hire a Stager to make yours stand out.  The ones I stage are selling so that is good news for the homeowner and Realtor.

I'm a city gal, who has an affinity for sidewalks, curbs, and gutters!  However, I made a trip to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania to visit the Amish, in May.  I think I could get accustomed to the simple life easily.
