Stats to prove: Active Rain is a Hurricane Force on your Web Business

I've heard others say thanks.  Thanks that they've received connections to potential clients because of Active Rain.  Thanks for buyers, sellers, lenders, etc.

I have to say a huge thanks.  We have a website that has been under the domain of www.nidt.com since 1998.  In web years, that's pretty darn old.  Without much work, we've been able to stay consistently within the first 1-4 pages of the 3 major search engines.  We fluctuate, but it's pretty consistent.  We get the majority of our referral traffic through our website (people who know us, heard about us from someone else, etc).  Throughout this time frame, our site has ranked at about 2.5-3 million according to Alexa.com

I check Alexa.com every few months to see where we stand.  Imagine my surprise when I checked it today and found this:

North Idaho Dream Team Website Reach

and this:

North Idaho Dream Team Website Traffic

and this:

North Idaho Dream Team Page Views

Folks, this is HUGE.  In the past 3 months alone, we've jumped from a placement of 3 million to last weeks average of 343k and a 3 month average of 927k  We're an individual agent website.  We are not a brokerage.

The only thing I can attribute a rise this high and this fast is directly from blogging, and I blog everything on AR.  Frankly, I don't follow all of the right 'to do's', I don't make sure I'm thoroughly linked back in every post.  I don't do a lot of what I 'should' be doing, but it's still working.

Thanks AR!

Christina, keep up the good work.  Are you getting any increase in business from the site?

03/17/2007 12:33 AM by Century 21 Showcase

What we are actually seeing is an increase in business on our website, resulting in phone calls from local buyers.  Nothing 'directly' to AR, but 1 offering being written Monday from a call this week, plus we are listing their house, and another house being listed next week and they are also looking to buy (but are buying after the house sells).  So essentially the potential of 4 deals in 1 week just from the website.

That's not all that unusual for us, what is unusual is that these are local, buyer owners, not out of state investors (out of state owners/buyers have been the mainstay of our business for the past 4 years).  This is perfect because we are trying to balance out our business.

Christina,

I haven't checked my Alexa numbers lately but have received 4 new buyers off of my site/blog since AR. (No sales yet but I am showing houses.) Previously I had one 1 real web referral in 5 years!

Glad AR is working!

It's working great - most importantly to keep me focused on updating the content constantly on our websites, blogs, etc.

Thanks for the heads up Christina, I've never been to the alexa site before. Obviously, I need to be doing more work on my website! LOL!

Christina,

Congratulations!  Seeing the Alexa results caused me to become sooo excited for you!  Thanks for sharing the good news.  You have inspired many other AR members.  Smiles.

That's great to see Christina! And you're right -- there's something about the ActiveRain community and SEO that keeps us all involved in the game. I'm just starting to track my numbers and am hoping to report similar results for the 2nd quarter of 2007.

03/22/2007 02:03 PM by John Novak - Las Vegas and Henderson NV Real Estate (Keller Williams Realty The Marketplace)

Thanks Debbie:  Alexa is kind of the industry 'standard' if you will, that allows one to judge the placement of their website in relation to all websites overall as well as within your own industry.  I've also downloaded the Alexa plug in that allows me to see where each site currently ranks in activity.

Karen: I just think this is fantastic!  Sure inspired me to get to updating and adding even more content to our blog and our website.

John: It's a daily inspirational, as you know!

Great to hear this is working so well for you.  I have a website that is 9 months young.  A little over a week of blogging has helped my search engine results.  I have gotten 3 nibbles in the last week but no solid leads.  Even nibbles are an improvement though as I wans't getting those before.

Nibbles are just the beginning.  Continuing to comment and post will really help you overall.

Christina

Much more important would be to check actual visitors to your web site and see those numbers, Alexa can only report if your visitors have the Alexa toolbar installed, so I'm sure your numbers could in fact be way better than these great numbers reflect.

03/23/2007 12:10 PM by Rob Parker (Leaf Tech Web Inc.)

Rob - I'm a little perplexed... Alexa reports traffic to sites, regardless of whether the Alexa toolbar is installed on the browser of the visitor or not.  My referral traffic through AR is up a lot, my overall traffic is up slightly.

This blogging thing (especially AR) is really insane in the way it helps SEO!
Just as good as that is the information we all share on this site and withing this network.
Thanks ActiveRain...

I have started to see blogging paying off as well.  I am moving up on Google and the leads are starting to come in.  Just makes me want to blog more!!!

06/13/2007 06:02 PM by Bradenton Real Estate - Linda Reynolds

This is awesome!  It just keeps me inspired to keep blogging so my website will continue to pull up the ranks.  I have some stiff competition so it is taking me longer to climb up, but I have seen the most improvement in ranking since I started blogging on Active Rain.

06/26/2007 06:08 AM by Bradenton Real Estate - Linda Reynolds

Congratulations. I agree AR is great. I have not tried Alexa rankings I will look into it. I have learned a lot and it feels good discussing RE with agents from across the country.

Blogging has been phenomenal for us - from our search engine rankings to our ability to continue to supply prospects and clients with factual, timely information.

I know my visits are up, but does it really translate into buyers/sellers or just Active Rain members visiting my site?  I suppose it is all interrelated.

06/26/2007 04:54 PM by Eliese Pivarnik, Colorado Group Realty, RSPS, Steamboat Springs, CO Real Estate (Colorado Group Realty, LLC)

Eliese -

I find that prospects have more confidence in my abilities.  Less of a need to "sell" myself (or the team) and more that they are now ready to utilize our services and already know I'm an expert in my field.

Very beneficial.

Christina:
Yes, you could say AR is a Hurricane FORCE.
The United Stats has its Air FORCE!
Now you kown the "The FORCE in Maryland Real Estate"; I am the only licensed agent with the last name of FORCE in the state of Maryland.  A  search of profiles in AR likewise has me as the only FORCE.  So I guess a I am the FORCE in that huge storm.

Christina,

You make a very good point.  When prospects meet you and they are already comfortable with you from the web, your job is mostly done.

I have been sold on the web for a long time. I have had my domain name since 1997. That's a lot of web years. These are good tips on optimizing your web presence., Regards, DavidC

This is great news.  I haven't spent any time on my website for more than 3 years.  I originally concentrated on getting leads through web generation, but the leads I received were awful.  I have changed my domain name and have recently checked through Alexa where my site stood...it didn't.  It basically disappeared.

Have Realtors been getting quality leads through there web sites?

My web provider upgraded my site in the last week and offered some advice to assist with placement.  Hopefully this works and the leads are good.

Regardless, I do enjoy reading other blogs and find some very informative to market we are in.

This is information that I have been looking for. It sounds very promising. I am new to the community, and was wondering if AR had the potential to really help my business. The information alone is great here, but what you are experiencing is fantastic. Wishing you nothing but more success.
