Ok so I don't know if you have RSS Feeds or not, but I love them. You get one line news and if you want more click the link. Great way to keep up in the busy world of Real Estate. Well here is one that I just had to click:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25630928/

SAG (Screen Actors Guild) is in negotiation for the money that was lost during the writers strikes. Ok. so you didn't get paid because you weren't working. And no one was writing anything for you to do.

The network offered $250 Million Yes Million to SAG to be paid out as additional pay during the next 3 years. SAG is saying that isn't enough.

SO LET ME GET THIS STRIGHT. You are going to get paid for doing nothing? REALLY?

Ok so lets do some math here. $250,000,000/ 40,000 (number belonging to SAG) = 6250 / 14 weeks (# of weeks writers on strike)= $446.43 a week for not working. That is also assuming they pay everyone that in in SAG. If they only pay the ones who were contracted to work and couldn't, then they get more.

Don't these people already make alot of money.

Ok so I am done just made me shake my head because there are many other people these days that could use the money more then some actors out there.

I have to admit, I am a little dumbfounded by this as well.  I have never heard of anyone sueing to get paid while they were on strike!  It's a little like the California legislature being paid while they haven't passed a budget...even though no one else does.  What happened to a little common sense and a sense of fair play? It's a little crazy!

Interesting thought that this just might go through. It certainly sounds insane to me!

I have yet to understand a strike, no one ever wins.  the work missed you will never make enough under the new contract to make up for the time lost

This is a ridiculous story, and it's just more sad commentary on our society and our skewed priorities, in my humble opinion.

CRYSTAL - It is outrageous what people have the nerve to ask for.  This would be like us submitting commission bills to homes that we listed, but expired.

It seems we are turning into an entitlement society - everyone wants something for nothing.

This makes me think of that McDonalds hot spilled coffee case for some reason...it's just plain stupid what some people can ask for, expect, and then SOMEHOW receive.  It must be all the legal drugs everyone happens to be taking...the brains are just way too foggy to work properly, and then stuff like this follows.  Hmmm...we should all be able to ask to join their organization, then expect to be paid back money because we weren't able to work back then either.  I bet they would think we are stupid.  Well, that's how crazy their request sounds to me too.  So let's ask, maybe we'll get what we want simply because our request is too bold to refuse.

I don't know the whole story.  No one can work for free (for long).  The strike affected my 'shows' and irritated me.  I am glad it is over but I wonder what the 'real' story is.
