Anhueser-Busch in St. Louis and InBev making a deal?

Well, it looks like InBev raised its offer by $5 a share to purchase Anheuser-Busch.  That would make the offer $70 a share - or 50 billion dollars.  Word has it that Anheuser-Busch will accept the deal sometime this weekend.  This would be a "friendly" deal as opposed to the "hostile takeover" mentioned earlier in this saga.

What about the new name for the company?  It hasn't been decided yet...

Debi,

Quite a turnaround from the news yesterday when AB was talking about suing InBev for tampering with the Board. I know money is money and business is business, and all that, but this is an American institution - whether you drink or not.

Never happy to see such an icon be bought out by an overseas owner.  Didn't work out so well with Mercedes/Chrysler though.

Steve - I'm a little bit surprised by this, but I guess I shouldn't be.  Money is usually the bottom line.  :)

Bill -  It's not a done deal, yet.  Maybe it still won't happen...  :)

Debi.. I don't think this is a happy ending at all.  Anheuser-Busch being bought out by any foreign company is not a good idea.  We NEED to keep companies in the states.  Otherwise we will become the United States of the World.. not America.

Valerie - There have been protests from the public, but I think they are going to do what benefits them the most financially...

It's always about the money.  Will they keep the business in place or will your employment rate take a hit?

Virginia - We know that they will cut costs, but we don't know to what extent.  Thanks for stopping by!  :)
