Calef's Country Store is situated smack dab in the heart of Barrington, NH.  Visiting Calef's is like stepping back in time.  Calef's is a quintessential New England country store.  Many years have come and gone since it opened but not too much has changed since it was established in 1869.  Here you will find Good people, good service and even better food!  Everything from home made breads to several cheeses, various baked goodies, jams, jellies & relishes etc.  There is even old-fashioned penny candy.  Just like the old days, but it's not a penny any more.  ;-)  Grab the tongs and reach into the pickle barrel for a HUGE dill pickle or stop by the deli and order your favorite special sandwich made with home made bread.  Personally, I like the "Joel".   When visiting, don't forget to stop in the country gift shop right next door and pick up something for a loved one.
