Bet you'd never guess this one! No matter your politics. The media will never tell of this.

GO GIRL!!!!!!!!!!

There was an article in the Wall Street Journal on Cindy McCain, John's wife. All I ever saw was this attractive woman standing beside John. I was surprised how talented and involved with world problems she is. This is a summary of the article.

  • She graduated from Southern Cal and was a special-needs teacher.
  • After her Dad died she became involved with his beer distributing firm and is now the chairwoman. Sales have doubled since she has taken over from her father.
  • They have a marriage prenuptial agreement, her assets remain separate.
  • She is involved around the world clearing land mines - travels to these countries on a detonation team and serves on their board.
  • They have a 19 year old serving in Iraq, another son in the Naval Academy, a daughter recently graduated from Columbia University, an adopted daughter in high school, and a son who is the finance guy at the beer firm.
  • Raised kids in Phoenix, Az. rather than Washington DC. (better atmosphere). He commuted.
  • In 1991, Mrs. McCain came across a girl in an orphange in Bangladesh came across a girl in an Mother Teresa implored Mrs. McCain to take the baby with a severe cleft palate. She did so without first telling her husband. The couple adopted the girl who has had a dozen operations to repair her cleft palate and other medical problems. They have a Family Foundation for children's causes.
  • She is active with 'Halo Trust' to clear land mines, provide water and food in war ravaged and developing countries.
  • She will join an overseas mission of 'Operation Smile', a charity for corrective surgery on chrildren's faces.
  • She has had two back surgeries and become addicted to pain killers. She talks openly about it which she says is part of the recovery process.
  • Cindy McCain is on the CARE Board of Directors.

I'm surprised the media is so quiet about her attributes. She sounds more capable than John, Hillary or Obama.

We would really get two for the price of one. A person with business and international experience. John did work for the firm for awhile when he left the Navy. She, however, has the real business experience.

She is more than just a "prety face." But there are many who will never see this!

Cindy is her own person in a number of ways and she's been proud to be an American for a LONG time.  She'll make an excellent first lady.

Yeah but does she stand for change?

Mrs. McCain is an awesome lady who would make a very perfect first lady.

I think she will be great!  She is not John's wife, she is Cindy.  Nice job.

Mary--This is so interesting to know that with your permission I would like to provide the information to Sean Hennedy. Such information should be out there.

Didn't realize all this.  What I also find is that her accomplishments, and who she is is also a reflection of who she is married to.  They have to support each other and their causes.

Good informaton Mary. A few months ago when the Democratic nomination wasn't complete, a Danish newspaper asked the question: "On one side you have a lawyer married to a lawyer or a lawyer married to a lawyer while on the other side you have a genuine war hero married to a big busted blonde that owns a beer distributership, why is there a doubt as to the choice." Well, as you can see, she is more than someone who owns a beer distributership.

Thanks

What about her Drug Addiction and the fact that she stole the drugs from her own nonprofit medical relief organization.

If that was Michelle Obama you wouldn't hear the end of it. Please wake up to reality.

Jane - Cindy talks openly about her addiction to pain pills as outlined above.  She admits it and takes full responsibility for it.  Something most people today will not do.  I will be doing a post on Mrs. Obama in a few days.  Keep an eye open for it.

Mary, sometimes the First Lady's do seem more capable than their husbands. I always thought Laura Bush was one smart lady. Thanks for the profile of Cindy. With political posts you will get a wide range of comments won't you?

When you read comments, do you wonder if some people just read the title and then comment without ever reading the content of what  you type? I mean, clearly that is the case when someone says this....

"What about her Drug Addiction and the fact that she stole the drugs from her own nonprofit medical relief organization."

...when it clearly states in your blog about her drug habit.

Cindy is pretty. She is like "middle aged Barbie". That is all I know about her. This is all interesting stuff. I'm still trying to figure out her husband.

I hate to give my vote to someone I don't trust, but to not give it to  him is like voting for the other guy unless some independent pops up and everyone votes for him and an independent wins which is highly unlikely.

Mary - I guess I'm just glad that Bill Clinton won't be the First Lady.  :)  I, too, find it humorous when someone doesn't bother to read the whole post before commenting.

I don't believe the media talks much of any first ladies.  I haven't heard that much about Michelle Obama and going back, I don't think we would have heard much of Mrs. Kerry had she not been a Heinz.  Eight years later I still don't know much about Laura Bush.  As for the post:

Phoenix is NOT a better atmostphere than DC.  Let's get that out in the open.

As for the rest, very cool woman she seems.  She's carrying on Lady Di's torch and that's certainly honorable.  I like her involvement in CARE and I have to love a woman who doubles beer distribution.  Can we have her as First Lady even if Obama wins?

Mary, the first time I saw John McCains wife I thought she looked like a barbie doll.  I have however read about her and listened to her and she is no barbie doll.  I'm impressed and think she would make a great first lady.  Now as far as her husband goes I guess I will hold my nose and vote.

I adore Mrs. McCain. She is beautiful and intelligent and looks like a First Lady. We all know the way the media leans which is why we don't hear things like this.

If I were John, I certainly start talking about this stuff, this says more about him and his family than anything we have heard in the last year!

I heard about her fabulous record.  I even checked it at snopes.com and verified that it was true.  Comparing her to Michelle Obama or Bill Clinton as the first lady or husband is no comparison.  She wins hands down.

The mainstream media will only cover her if she becomes the First Lady - she is simply too dangerous to the left for now.

Hi Mary...I am sure she will make a very suitable first lady.

Perhaps the media does not say much about Cindy McCain because she doesn't have much to say politically.  They did feature her when she said how she always has been proud of this country.

Other than that she is kept pretty quiet.  I suppose that makes a perfect first lady.

I find it interesting that she is also described as looking like a first lady.   I'm curious as to what that means.

As far as mainstream media not telling us about Cindy McCain's background, I knew all of the things you mentioned and I do not read or watch anything other than mainstream.  Guess they are reporting it after all.  That is a good thing.
