If you are potential seller in the Omaha real estate market you have many choices when it comes to hiring an agent.  Not all agents are created equal and even agents within the same company has varying degrees of success and experience.

Any agent you speak with will TELL you all about their internet and technology expertise.  How can you really tell?  One way to test this is to send a potential agent a TEXT message.  Agents that are technology savvy understand the POWER of texting and the importance of communicating in today's marketplace.  The demographic for the average buyer in today's market is the low to mid 30's.  Times have changed and the buyers in today's marketplace DEMAND instant communication.

So, before you hire an agent send them a text message.  Sending a simple text may save you a tremendous amount of time and it will put you in contact with an agent who has the capability of communicating with the buyers in today's marketplace.

Thanks,

I agree.  Tools and tricks of the trade have changed.  I text agents about their inspections.  I would say the "text test" would go for anybody working in or around real estate.  Time is precious, quick turn-arounds are key, and the ability to have both is everything.

David,

Excellent thread, we are now using TXT.COM on our real estate yard signs and it is incredible. Potential buyers can drive up, text in the numbers and get immediate information on the home they are looking at. It then alerts me that someone has just TEXTED in on my listing with their phone number and name so I can do an immediate call up and follow thru on any further questions they may have...

Oops!  I flunk the text test!.  My Blackberry is always on my hip but I don't text!  That must earn me points!

David, I came to your post because of Dick Betts comments. That little suggestion would blow most of your agents out of the water.

I agree. I was not a big texter until recently. One of my listings loved to text.
