Utah # 10 in Foreclosures -Salt Lake # 89. !

By
Real Estate Agent with Group1 Real Estate, selling houses in Salt Lake City Utah

The headlines screamed UTAH NO.10 IN FORECLOSURES. Later it mentioned that Salt Lake, was ranked #89 among the nations Metro areas. I don't know how that is possible, but I never was very good at math, or for that matter conceptual thought.

I will puzzle on it and maybe let you know, (if I don't end up looking real stupid).

Anyway the article by Leslie Mitchell in Fridays Salt Lake Tribune talked about how one in 600 Utah homeowners is in some stage of losing their home. She mentioned how home sales were down, and how this problem was not going to go away anytime soon.

Then there was the usual analasis of why were in this mess, by someone thats not in this mess.

All in all it was a downer.

But like the optimistic boy with shovel in hand that said "there's got to be a pony in here somewhere". I pressed on.

 I found the "pony".

The "pony" is for any one that is part of the one in 600 house holds that is in some stage of losing a home.

Actually there are two "ponies". Both designed to help people wade through the mess of options available to Home Owners caught in this mess.

1.   The Housing  Education Coalition, which is a net work of public and non profit agencies that counsel people at risk of foreclosure.   http://www.hecutah.org/

2.   Neighborhood Non-Profit.   A group that urges people having problems to call right away, even before they miss that first payment.   http://www.nnhc.net/

I hope this has been helpful.

For the other 599, your "pony" is our website, where you can view all of the homes for sale in the Salt Lake Valley. Click on Salt Lake Homes and you'll have access to thousands of houses and condominiums, with pictures, prices, maps and information your local Realtor uses. It's FREE, and we hope you will visit often.

In the meantime I am working on my riddle of how Utah is #10 in foreclosures, while Salt Lake City is #89, what is that all about?
