I Hear Voices

Kids In CabinetI have to confess

          I HEAR VOICES.

I searched the house thinking there were these little kids hiding in the cabinets but no, that wasn't it. Was it some psychotic break with voices in my head, where I needed some new meds prescribed? No, I don't think that was what it was.

It was the voices of the many in real estate social networking. It was an Active Rain call. One thing I have noticed from my own writing one article after another is a voice rises to the surface. Why this is so I haven't quite figured out yet but it perhaps has to do with what you are passionate or knowledgeable about.

The voices I have heard include knowledge about local markets, technology interest like the new Flip video camera, passions about topics in politics like who should be the next President, rants of all kinds from other dopey Realtors to the pros and cons of the new Localism to ethical behavior. I have heard voices in the mortgage industry about whether we are going through a meltdown. I have heard voices about shoddy repair of ceilings damaged by water leaks. There are voices that just want to tell a joke. There are voices about plummeting prices of homes in southeastern Florida. Also, inspiring voices. In Las Vegas I have heard more than one voice that there may be too many condos for sale. Voices, voices, get out of my head Jason Crouch! Then there are the songs of the inspired. There are the MeMes and ThemThems. So much to say, so little time to read. This forum has practiced my speed reading skills. There are all sorts of clubs from Christianity to Chaos. There are Public voices, Members Only voices, and if you get to really feel the love some day the "Jacked" voices. And there is the so much laughter. Please take time to enjoy the laughter. It is there, and it is real.

All I want to say to all the voices and to especially the Newbies trying to figure this crazy place out, do not rule out any voice you encounter. Stick with it. First impressions here can be misleading at times. Stay open. This is a great place to listen for awhile before you fire back that reply comment. Trust that almost all the voices you will get something out of if you just hang with them

Gotta go. I'm hearing more voices calling me again!!!

Gary,

I don't mind hearing voices so much...it's the thought that my voice may be what others are hearing, that troubles me!!! Thanks,   Fran

Patricia: Blogging has that effect on you doesn't it. Try not to overdose on the stuff.

Kristina: I only discovered the kids on the walk through : )

Kathy: Many people to listen to out there isn't there?

Charles: The "good" voices in the world!

Dale: The Group's will definitely bring out the interest levels and the back and forth exchange depending on the category you are right.

Susan: Coming from you that is too funny. An inside joke of course. I'm in the back seat Mom. xxoo

Barbara: It is nice to know that I will not be the only one the men in the white coats will be coming for. We will enjoy our time together in the padded cells.

Michelle: When we answer back to the voices isn't that conversation? By golly, I think that is called BLOGGING!!!

Hi Gary,  Hearing voices is a great experience if they are AR voices!  Like you wrote, voices of innovation, creativity, affirmation, fun, and the list goes on and on and on forever!  Did you know that the sound of a voice keeps going on into space and never ends?  So let's listen to the voices that lift us to newer heights of love, joy and peace!  I hear the VOICE of F-U-N- FUN!

Gary, We all hear voices... Do we? yes we do! But we are selective in which voice we listen to and which others we don't, Voices of AR people are not real but they do have some good ideas.

The voices are not real but they do have some good ideas

LOL

Arina: Very, very good thought, plus it includes a graphic. You haven't been hanging around Susan Mangigian have you? She's always pulling these graphic surprises out of her Photoshop hat. Thanks Arina.

Loreena: The men in the white coats have stopped by now and told me to get my fingers away from the keyboard so I should be fine soon.

Gary - I think you have inspired me to write a post of my own on a similar topic.  If mine is one of the voices, I apologize.  If not, I need to try harder.  :-)

Gary,

It is wonderful to hear that I am in good company.  From all the comments, I either joined AR to be with people just like myself with all this stuff going on or else it started going on because I joined AR.  I'll let you know what the consensus of the group is later.

Gary, Thais one was a good one. My voice better be the loudest of all, but again I've been too busy to play in the Rain lately! :0)

Jason: Your voice is loud and clear all over the Rain and I stole that in my head line of course from Jesse Clifton.

Derenda: I think it started with you. YOU are the culprit that got the voices going : )

Mana: Your voice always stands out and we all love it!!

Put 40 years of experience to work for you

I suspect it's human nature to judge others, and not everybody can write very well -- some people have difficulty expressing themselves and some write with respect to inside jokes, while others might have a certain personality that doesn't necessarily shine through. I always try to give writers a second or third chance before developing an opinion about them.

Elizabeth: I personally like picking everything out of the refrigerator. I hang with all of it for awhile and see if there is something that rings true with me even if it isn't similar to me. Different makes me a better me I figure. But like acid rock, sometimes too much of the political or bickering arguments drag me down so I avoid that. There is a lot of compatibility with a lot of the voices though, even the different ones.

Pam: You never know what might be lurking in your cabinets.

John: I remember Hotel California well. Your presence lingers. Think of someone like John Denver. Gone but definitely not forgotten, Rocky Mountain High.
