Negative Information that appears on my credit report stays on the report forever.

Fact: Most negative information does drop off your credit report after seven years.

There are exceptions to the seven year rule however. Bankruptcy information can stay on a credit report for ten (10) years...information about foreclosures is reported for twelve (12) years from the date filed.

Garnishments, judgments, and tax liens can stay on the credit report for twelve (12) years from the date of entry or for seven (7) years from the date they were satisfied.

The old adage "Time heals all wounds," is true. As negative information becomes older...it becomes less important.

So even if your information stay on for seven years it does not hurt your credit as bad as if it was just a year ago.

Please remember never to dispute things that are correct.  This is dishonest.  be above board it will bode well for you in life.
