38 Comments on Doc Feelgood Gives You a Prescription for Happiness
Your posts always make me feel good and have reflective heart moments. Thanks Gary :-)
Trey: A new agent succeeding makes all of us feel good. That is a great thought.
Debbie: That is a very cool idea with the notebook going back and forth. How novel.
Gita: Just one will do for a start. Try 100 if you like, the more the merrier.
Judy: Writing and making people feel good I enjoy. You are very perceptive.
Kris: I try to get people to think about their heart. So true.
Blogging must be what makes you happy...since you write a lot! Thanks for another positive post, and have a happy day!
Gary...putting on a smile will make you feel good whether you wnat ot or not. you are right , do more of what makes you happy.
Having lunch with my girlfriend would make me happy...Don't think my wife would agree! LOL
Exercise at Gold's Gym makes me feel good and, therefore, happy. I'm just going back this week after a 4 week hiatus for shoulder surgery, Karen
Gary: As you already know, I'm finding that swimming is making me happy this summer. That or gardening. I love making my yard look nice. It's hard work, but pays dividends when pulling into your driveway can put a smile on your face.
I know this will probably sound contrived or corney, but what gives me extreme pleasure in life is helping other people.
Gary, I love spending time with people who love me. And I love them right back.
I am happiest when my kids and I hug and snuggle! My 3 and 5 yr olds love to come and get in bed with me in the morning and snuggle!
Kelly: You are too observant about me. Thanks for spotting me on this. I love your posts too.
William: Great punch line on the girlfriend.
Karen: I know the feeling about vigorous exercise. It makes you feel good. Good luck to getting back into the swing of things after surgery.
Chris Ann: Gardening and swimming are great ones.
Elizabeth: I think that is one of the best ones to make you happy. You've got a great spirit.
Shirley: It doesn't get any better than that with the ones you love. Very, very true.
Pam: Who can not like snuggling? Very cool, and I'm so glad you recognize it. Do more. Do more. I see a big smile on your face and lots of giggling.
Well, there are tons of things that make me happy. But, I decided that if I give my Little Peppy, my parti-poodle, even the slightest bit of attention it is like getting a happy shot.....his enthusiasum and playfulness is immediately contagious.
Sondra: Glad to hear about your fun little parti-poodle. Dogs give us such unconditional love, who can't get a big smile from them?
Dr, I think as I get older I get happier. Less stress and more experience to rely on. I do take time to make sure I am doing things I like more, which is your point.
Robert: Life is way to short to do things you don't like to do. I agree with experience you can reduce your stress level.
Ok, I will say the obvious- getting a call from a title company telling me we just funded. I sure could use a lot more of that! Handing the keys over to a first time home buyer is high on the list as well. I really enjoy coffee on my patio with a newspaper and watching my dogs play in the wee hours of the morning. The other thing that comes to mind immediately is cooking. There is nothing that makes me happier than spending time in the kitchen. Spending time with my children is another thing I cannot get enough of. And of course spending time on AR.
Thanks for the post. It got me thinking. I am going to make a list (yes, lists make me happy).
BTW- Tell William I am free for lunch on Wednesday.
Many things mamke me happy - first and foremost my family. I love spending time with my daughters and lauging, & telling stories. Being successful makes me happy. Being creative with some new technology makes me happy. I love my dog as he makes he laugh a lot . . . spending time with friends, and talking with you all here on AR.
Mel: You have some great ones on the list. I'll play matchmaker with you and William but the spouses might wonder where you two went. ; )
Sharon: Wow, also like Mel, you came up with a great list. DO MORE.
Great idea Gary! Listening to my son Chris play guitar and sing is one of my very favorite things.
I will do more of that this week!
