New TV Technology - OLED

By
Real Estate Sales Representative with Prudential Douglas Elliman Licensed Real Estate Salesperson

Organic Light-Emitting Diode (OLED). The future is NOW!!! The coolest thing about OLED is that it can be printed on ultra-thin materials like clothing and roll-up displays.  Oh yeah, OLED has a one million to one (1,000,000:1) contrast ratio making it virtually better than how the human eye perceives reality.  OLED has a response time of 0.01ms compared to the 8-12ms of LCD.  As of now it is expensive to produce and the lifespan of the technology needs to be extended to that of LCD and plasma which is 60,000 hours.  Other than that, there are no cons.  This display technology is thinner than plasma or lcd could ever hope to be.

Vincent,

Tis is simply incredible. When you start thinking that there could be nothing better than what we already have, here it comes.

The parameters you are giving are absolutely phenomenal. Just imagine the implications...

Vincent,

This sounds absolutely amazing.  Of course, I couldn't have imagined that I would have been carrying a phone in my purse as an every day occurence when I was a kid.  Technology just keeps getting more amazing.

Hi Vincent - As always the technology just keeps on getting better and smaller.  BTW - the YouTube video is no longer available, in case you want to find another to replace this one.

The technology has been around for awhile and is used in a lot small screens especially on cameras and phones.
