Over the past 7 days I have traveled from Los Angeles to Mount Shasta and personally witnessed the smokey skies of California.  This is a spread of over 600 miles and it is smokey all  the way!

During most of my driving there was a haze on the horizon, but in Redding we saw the fires burning.

One interesting thing is how dry Mount Shasta is this time of year.  It normally  has a lot more snow on it, but it is mostly melted this year.

I live and manage property in Sacramento, CA and we have had some of the worst smoke as it lays in the valley and literally smokes us out.  But us Sacramento dewllers better plan a trip either to the coast or out of state to get some relief, it will be smokey for a while yet.

3 Comments on Smokey Skies from Los Angeles to Mount Shasta

Have you seen the sun as it sinks into the horizon at night? It's often a bright orange ball because of all the fires.

The skies in Sacramento cleared on Wednesday, which is nice.  I happen to be in NYC today and it is hot and clear.  I could breath except for the humidity.
