Recently during one of my regular calls to a member of my sphere, I had a very interesting conversation regarding energy efficient llighting.   Timmy was updating me on the recent improvements they have made to their home and began to boast about how they are saving $50.00 per month off their electric bill by simply changing all of their light bulbs to energy efficient bulbs.

I was so moved by our conversation that I began doing a little research of my own and I discovered the following:  The bulbs are most commonly referred to as Energy Star and they use up to 75% less electricity and produce 75% less heat than traditional bulbs.  They lasting longer, are safer to operate and lower electric bills.  The savings has been so great for most that in a recent news article it was referenced that if every American home replaces one bulb that we could save enough energy to llight more than 3 million homes for a year.

I'M SOLD!     I RAN OUT AND BOUGHT ENERGY STAR BULBS FOR MY ENTIRE HOUSE (OUTSIDE LIGHTING INCLUDED)

Please share your experiences with energy efficient lighting and fixtures as well as other ways to GO GREEN and or cut back on household expenses.
