How many people would take a an hour class to learn some of the new  Web 2.0 and other kewl tech tools to make your job easier and to impress your clients? As the sellers and buyers of the world get more savvy, they will expect and demand more from their Realtors.  I was amazed when I ran an ad/email to my fellow realtors in our association the last few months. I thought since the market had slowed down I would brush up on my marketing, I started showing some of my friends some of the online tools and they were intrigued and asked for me to setup classes. So I did and started a new side venture of conducting Tech Savvy classes (something I have had a passion for the last ten years).  The best part is most of the tools are FREE!

During the nineties I was an online editor and learned how to manipulate from the behind the scenes. Now, I am no programmer, but there is alot of tools we should all be using on our blogs or websites. For example, in my class we  explore the latest trends in online marketing and advertising, including terminology, features, strategies, business models, tools and technologies. Some of what I will show them will be exciting, some things may overwhelm them, but for the most part you will be exposed to some new technology that will get you ahead of the curve. Just to let you know how fast technology is advancing: some  5000 photos are loaded down per minute to Picaso (an online public/private photo storage service). And according to google CEO, Eric Shidmt, there's over 70 million blogs.  And for a little bit of fun, if you assume the current growth rates... by 2019, you will be able to watch  85 years of video on a device in your purse/pocket.

Some of the topics I discuss include:Real Estate Portal Sites (classified online postings) , eFlyers,  Single Property Websites, Listing Syndication (to portals-classifieds), RSS Feeds/Feedreader/Feedburner,  Blogging,Vblogging ,  Social Networking, Data/Analytics/Statistics, IDX, Active Agent, Google Maps, Widgets and Wiki's and Google Alerts  and of course ActiveRain!!

Technology is advancing so quickly and the Web is wonderful.  Right now we are in the midst of  seeing a major shift  in audience and drawing viewer engagement. The marketing principles are changing and eventually, you will be able to track your precise targeted customer base by designing one correctly targeting ad- that will be so compelling.

The underling online theme in this kind of advertising is known as geotargeting and the birth of this service is the analytic tools! Data:more measurable mechanisms!!  Today, very few buyers initially walk into an office. They'll do their research online.

If you know of any association or broker that would like to sponsor a class, please contact me at: 443-786-0200 or visit my blog at: www.qachousingmarket.com   I promise you will be intrigued and feel it was worth your time.

I offered to teach classes to our members for free since I have over 30,000 web pages, but they said they have enough teachers.  So I signed up for one of their classes thinking they'd actually help me learn so of the latest info.  Oops, they are only interested in teaching "entry level classes".  And so it goes.

Thanks for the comments...I am sorry that you have not had members see the value in your classes. Fortunately, I have been successful in having agents sign up for my classes. And I get a kick out of teaching...it's so exciting and I actually have other agents who share the enthusiasm. Keep trying, agents do want to learn and are very eager. Start emailing the members and hold the classes yourself.  Good Luck.
