Here is an article out of the Wall Street Journal at the beginning of July -- "Most Affordable Places to Live."  Actually, the article is a take off from MSN's report on the "Nine Most Affordable Housing Markets. (Don't ask me why they couldn't come up with one more place to make it an even ten. It was probably done just to bug us OCD people a little.) MSN compiled the report from Bert Sperling of Sperling's Best Places -- which if you don't get anything else out of this post -- that is a resourceful web site.

O.K. - for those of you just a little too busy or lazy to want to click on the links, here they are ---

1) Wichita, KS

2) Omaha, NE

3) Harrisburg-Carlisle, PA

4) Madison, WI

5) San Antonio, TX

6) Indianapolis, IN

7) Pittsburg, PA

8) Dallas-Fort Worth, TX

9) Tulsa, OK

Congrats to those agents marketing in those cities.

Maybe thats because no one wants to live in those areas.  Just joking i have been to some and they are fine.

John - Ahhh, humor is indispensable in sales. Hey, its not like Fargo is on the list. O.K. - now I am joking too.

Melissa - I bet Wichita is beautiful. For some reason Glen Campbell comes to mind. :)

Pam - Unfortunately, one of the qualifications to be on the list was the city or surrounding area had to have more than 500,000 people.  The other qualification was the schools in the area had to be larger than one room.  :)  Didn't they film "Little House on the Prairie"in Idaho? Or was it "The Waltons?"  Goodnight, Mary Ellen.

# 10 has to the North Georgia Blue Ridge Mountains although it's #1 in my book.  LOL  I'm sure the criteria used left a lot of great places out but some great places are on the list.

The way prices have adjusted back down in AZ I'm surprised one of our communities didn't make the list.

Kathy - I agree with you. My son, just out of college last year,  bought his first house at a great price in Avondale.
