After 25,000 letters (yes...25K!) asking EXTREME MAKEOVER HOME EDITION to help a well deserving family......that family got the knock on their door July 9th. They are the Akers family from West Chester, Ohio (a suburb of Cincinnati) and where I live.
This has been so exciting and amazing how fast this beautiful home is going up! I will be volunteering tomorrow (Tuesday) for the 6am-Noon shift. It is going to be so cool to actually be a part of this for a very special family!
The big reveal will be July 17th (Thursday) and I'm planning to be there yelling "MOVE THAT BUS!!" with everyone else! I can't wait to see the look on the Akers' faces when they see their new home....what a blessing!
I wonder if I'll be able to sleep tonight....I think I get to keep the t-shirt...LOL! Hopefully I'll see Ty, Paige, David, and Paul!

Oooh Teresa, try and get a picture of them, if not with them! How fun! Of course, the point is the family, but you can have fun too, right? : ) They were here a couple of years ago and actually stayed at a hotel in Port Jefferson (where I work at my day job). Never saw them, because, of course, during the day they are at the house!
