home stager merry go round

A few months ago I noticed that my merry-go-round was spinning a bit faster than the speed at which I felt comfortable. But. . . but, I was having soooooooooooo much fun. Finally there came that moment when I recognized that growing my home staging business (a part of the fun) had to be a priority over some of the other things where I was involved.

One of the tasks I realized I should give up was that of moderating every other week for Stage it Forward and writing the Week in Review on that same week. Doggone it, I was having a blast and thought perhaps there was some other way to lighten the load. After a bit of thought and a few conversations with the crew at rooms b.y. root it became apparent that I would indeed have to let go of that particular “job.”

It has been a blast and a privilege to have been a part of the moderating gang. I’m grateful for the opportunity.

Thank you, Craig Schiller for opening the door for me.

Thanks to all of you for being such faithful readers and for all your great comments!

The ride is still turning and I’m still enjoying it – I just have one less task to be concerned about for a while as my home staging business in central northern Arizona grows.

Yes sometimes we have to set our priorities if we want to accomplish our goals. I have trouble saying no and tend to take on too many extra tasks myself.

Yvonne ~ You've grown and now somethings must give way to that growth.  Totally understood.  I am happy to hear that you are doing so well in your business.  Keep it up!

Great article!  Home staging is awesome, and I have a client that is doing it on ALL his properties for sale!  It is helping tremendously!

Yes Teresa, it gets to be a bit crazy sometimes before we decide we have to begin saying no even to ourselves. I really did like the job I've given up but I had to tell me NO. You know what it is like. Thanks for stopping in to comment!

Kathy, you are so right. There are times when we know that giving up one thing will be worth it to gain another. So I'll stop crying now and get to work. :) Naw, really I did have fun and now it will be the turn for some one else.

YES, we'll miss you so much...You will still be writing the creative and terrific posts I am sure.  I love your analogies.  Now is Kimberly going away too?  She is spending more time with kids, so are we loosing you both?  I for one, appreciate your sense of fairness and balance.  Hoping your replacements can make that happen as well.   Who is your replacement anyway?

Tracy, how cool that your client (and YOU) understand what a difference presentation can make. Staging is for the savvy home owner, the knowledgeable investor, the confident builder and even for today's market wise home shopper. Thanks for the comment.

Hey Terrylynn! Kim is still moderating. That is a very good thing. I'm not sure who will be replacing me. Won't it be fun to find out? I'm excited about the possiblities. Thanks for your oh-so-kind comments!

It's me....wait a minute...I need to dry my tears... I will miss my Yvonne....my SIF buddy... :(

Okay, crying is over....Any volunteers to fill Yvonne' HUMONGOUS and balance shoes?   :)

Seriously, Yvonne, you know how much I appreciate and love you!  I will miss our semi-regular chats and all the 'fun' we have had keeping SIF on an even keel.  I hope your predecessor is as wonderful as you.  Even though that may be impossible...

Seriously again, any volunteers?

Kim, here I was trying to hide the fact that my feet are so big and you have to blab to everyone! :)

You are too sweet. You know we will have to continue our semi-regular chats anyway. Just as I could chase my toddler while eating a chocolate chip cookie I can probably turn a wheel while laughing on the phone. It is difficult not knowing what the next step looks like, but I'm sure you will have a great time with your new part time moderator on board. I'm looking forward to seeing who that will be.

VOLUNTEERS?

Thank you Maureen! It will be different and will take some adjustment on my part. That is fine. It is fun to see which doors open as we step into the new room; don't you think?

Hey Maureen H! Am I also allowed to be beautiful and adored? As all home stagers (yourself included) are just on the verge of being abundantly blessed it will be difficult to find any "little folks" who could be forgotten. :) Thanks for stopping in!

Thank you so much Cheryl! When, as a child, I learned that my mother always had "something" for me to do if I used the word "bored" I discovered ways to keep myself entertained. Lately I've been more entertained than I needed to be. :) It is wonderful to have your blessing.

I know how you feel, a couple weeks ago I had to tell all my faithful followers that I may not be able to answer all their questions or respond to comments on my blogs anymore as I was getting too busy and something had to give and comments had to be it!
