So...for those of you followers of Desig Star -

Anyone dissapointed with our top THREE?

It's now down to these three:

A) Matt Locke

B) Trish Beaudet

and

C) Jennifer Bertrand

(BTW, the only person I thought would possibly be in this top 3 was Stephanie Cook. Agree?)

I have to say I'm actually quite pleased with the results. I wasn't a huge Trace fan at all, and it is sad to say but Mikey V didn't seem to strike it well on camera. What do you all think?

 HGTV Design Star 2008 Contestants

Here are some observations I've made:

1) Top STAR founded by Design Start thus far:

For TALENT - David
For Personality - Kim Myles

2) Top Challenge this season:

Episode 5 - The "Sara Evans Shabby Chic Suite" http://www.hgtv.com/hgtv/design_star_2008/text/0,,HGTV_31076_68650,00.html?cat=episode5&pageref=Photo_Video-925709&vw_arrange_order=DESC&vw_sort_order=MOST_RECENT&pn=1

3)

P.S. Go here to play the HGTV "Design Star" Shuffle:

I love that show.  I am not a design diva, so who is best to win is not somthing I can foretell, I like all of the remaining contestants.  I am so glad that blonde, mean lady is finally gone, she drove me crazy.  When she spent 7 hours shopping without bothering to drop off the tiles for the backsplash, I wanted to slap her silly.

I am disappointed in this season in general. Yes, I liked the "Sara Evans" challenge, but overall, I don't think the show has done a good job of showing their talents. That last "group" challenge of the kitchen? What was that?

Hi Beth A - Gotta agree. She expected someone to tell her or suggest she drop off the tile sometime before 6 pm so Mikey V could do the tile work - COME ONE!  Me tinks she wasn't on her rocker that day.

I'm going to make an early prediction, but my vote is for the brilliant Matt Locke. Did you see that guys audition program? Gotta love the way he packaged his presentation. HE just needs to work on his presentation skills on tv a bit.

Hi Debi,

I agree. The kitchen show was pretty dissapointing, but I think it was mostly due to Trace's lack of design concept. Was a very boring - and as the judges put "BLAH" room. I can't think of one thing that was creative or original in it.

The only plus they got was for completing it on time...that's it!

I'll admit that I haven't been watching this season, but I agree that David is definitely the most talented person discovered.  I love his show too.

I thought that the guy who was kicked off yesterday (name Mikey maybe) was one of the most talented designers.  Sorry to see him go.

Hi Steve,

I don't think there is a person I haven't talked to that doesn't love David. What a talented painter that man is! I'd love him to do something for my OWN home :)

Oops...sorry James. I must have just missed you.

Mikey V was a very talented in the design field, but did you see him infront of the camera when he auditioned as a host? Not so good I'm afraid. We all would need som e training in that area I'm sure, but the others seem way more natual then he did.

Still thought he was a nice guy though...and GREAT designer. Just not a host it appears.

Beth ~ I was so glad Tracee was let go.  It seemed every episode there was some deal with her and then to be out shopping for 7 hours and not bring the tile back to the house first, well, like Beth A. said, at the very least you wanted to slap her silly.  I was actually thinking, "What is wrong with you?  The last two seasons there were always kitchen problems."  So I don't understand why they didn't just do the tile first.

Hi Kathy!

No doubt...I wouldn't normally tile first, but heck...with the history of the issues on the time crunch why not?!?!

Hope you are well.

Beth
