Fancy AR Backgrounds WHAT???

Alright, I've been out of the loop a bit.

How are you all getting those funky backgrounds on your AR Profiles?

I.e. Mr. Jeff Tuner's Perspective

or Mr. Jeff Dowler:

And hey wait, Maureen Henry somehow even disabled the option to cut and paste. I'm SO missing the inside scoop here!

Great question i would love to know how to create my own banner. I have tried before with no luck...

Beth, good question. I want to know how to get a funky background too!

click on my profile.... look for the logo that says "active rain blog customizer".

It will walk you through.

The banner is a different piece of the puzzle... do a google search to create a banner.

Also, you can always copy by "holding down the CTRL and pressing the V" and paste by "holding down the CTRL and pressing the C". Neato huh?

Hi Beth - Those were both done with the ActiveRain Blog Customizer, designed by Brad Carroll at Dakno Marketing. For an easy step-by-step on how to put the graphics together, Jeff Turner did a tutorial on using Picnik. Have fun!

I haven't ever noticed them. Now that you mention it I'm seeing them everywhere.

Good humor - and thanks for asking the question.

I created a banner for my blog using the Active Rain blog customizer.

Here is how I created the header: 1. Opened PowerPoint and inserted the images I wanted to use. You could insert Word Art to say your blog title or company over an image. 2. Right click and choose "Select All". 3. Hit Crtl and right click again at the same time and choose "group" to group the images into one image. 4. right click on the new single image and choose "Save as picture", save as JPEG somewhere you can find it (desktop, my pictures). 5. Go to the Active Rain Blog customizer and uplod the image from where you saved it.

You may have to play with the size a little and resave the picture a few times to get it the size and look you want.

Beth - I love the new backgrounds - so much fun. I disabled the right click button on my blog because I was sick of writing cease and desist letters to people that put my photos / copy on thier websites. It was becoming a full time job. If you look up 'disable right click script' you will find one. Then just place it in the settings of your blog - where you would put a widget script.

Beth- I see you posted this in the Art of Marketing You Group.....go into the group and look for marti garaughty's tutorials....he offered several FREE backgrounds and Headers ( the pictures like you showed here)
