I don't know if your town goes nuts on St. Patty's Day, but St. Paul does.  It seems all the Scandinavians who are supposed to reside here, become Irish overnight.  I don't know if the leprechauns shake faerie dust on everyone as they sleep at night or what, but something happens to make a town of normally sane people dress and act like they do on this day.

Great photos. I hope you have a wonderful Scandinavian St. Patrick's day!

Wow, there's a lot of green there!!!  We had a big party in downtown Cedar Rapids today and it looked exactly like this parade.  It was so big in fact, that I couldn't find a parking place to work my "floor duty"  and was about fifteen minutes late.  Go Green!

Very cool, I love all the photos...very green indeed! Of course everyone is Irish today!

I live right near downtown, and in an area where there is a bar with an irish name on it every couple of blocks.  St. Pats day is very loud and there isn't any place to park.  I wait for St. Stans day to party.  he is the saint who drove the elephants out of poland.  My dad tells that stary and ends it by pointing out that it worked because there are no elephants in poland

Hey, Teresa, we parked in front of Cravings and walked to the parade.  Can you believe it?  And it was at the same time as the hockey tournaments at the Xcel Center.  We counted our lucky stars with every step.  On the way back we got a Chicago style hotdog at the local vendor, sat at the picnic table with a weird drunk guy, and shared our Dalmatian with all the kids who couldn't believe their luck to actually get to touch and feel a REAL Dalmatian!  The dog thought he had died and gone to heaven.  We all came home and fell asleep in front of the TV.  Tired us all out.

Bonnie, I live mighty close to the St. Paddy's action! Not the good & fun part either, the green-clad, heavily inebriated, Scandinavian, Irish wanna-be-stragglers-wandering-through-the-side-streets-singing "When Irish eyes are Smilin'"-in-a-heavy-Minneesoda-accent-part. It's a grand time to go visit the people in my computer while playing my "Irish Rover" albums through my headset!
