So....I honestly have to say when I got my first invitation to this FACEBOOK thing, I was thinking:

1) What the heck?

2) Ok, I'm way too old for this

3) After getting umpteen emails from old high school and college friends...WOW, this thing is quite connected somehow.

I've also noticed quite a few friends from the AR World joining and requesting to link as friends, so I've started a group.

It's called - "Active Rain Home Stagers" :)

Feel free to join in...and let me know what you think of the whole facebook thing.  I'm still quite new I have to admit.

All the best,

Beth

Interesting, my nieces and nephews have been telling about this, but I thought it was just for the "younger" crowd.

Ha...me too Cindy. I DO think it was started for the youunger crowd, but wait...we are still young right?? I'm not going to admit I'm old until I'm at least 60. That's when you are starting to get up there in age :)

Have to say though...as soon as I signed up, I had quite a few old friends and colleagues emailing. So...I think the crowd has grown.

All the best,

Beth

Too funny sharon. I wish I could tell you but I'm new to it as well.

At this point, all I've done is accept calls for work...and caught up with new friends. It's more of a connections deal...and perhaps some old friends will want your services :)

Well, if you are getting calls for work from it that is great.  Question:  I listed my married name, should I put my Maiden name in there to be recognized from old friends or is the high school and year graduated enough.

Hi Beth,

Of course this invite has been sitting in my inbox and now I'm reading this and went to join and cannot get to the page - but I promise to join!  I never go on facebook but have the account. One can never be on too many social networking sites...

We must be on at the same time KO.

Ha...isn't that the truth about the networking sites. Sometimes they can be overwhelming! Mostly just great places to meet nice people :)

Hi Cheryl, I know I have been getting lots of contacts from my Facebook profile. I just joined your group too as most of my friends are already there! Kym

Sharon,

Here is what you can do so people who knew you by your maiden name can find you.

Go to your profile page and on the top right hand corner, click on account.

Next you should be under settings where the first thing you will see is "name"

Click on that

next, a few lines down you will see something that says "former full name"

You type your whole former full name there.  The name doesn't show up as your profile name, but you will show up if someone types in your maiden name in the search engine.

Hi Kym, thanks for joining! Have fun...

Hi Joanna, thanks so much for answering Sharon's questions. I somehow missed that response!!!

Sharon, so sorry...but Joanna is exactly right on how to list maiden names :)

Hi Again Beth. I have 2 questions, are you combining your professional and personal profiles, or did you set up a biz profile? I would like to invite you all to be friends. I have not done that yet. And have you thought about posting on Linked In. I know some of us are on it but as far as I can see there are no large staging groups? What do you think?  Thanks.

Yeah, it's been fun on Facebook, although there is a lot of selling going on.  And it's much easier to move around and share, chat and learn here on AR.  I too have a group there, and hope that you'll join, Beth -- wwww.homemarketingmastermind.com.  I'lll join yours if you'll join mine!! <grin>  Juliet

Hi Lisa...I do have a profile on LikenIn as well actually. Linked In seems to be a bit more professional IMHO.  Facebook people can find you very easily though!
