Wake Up And Smell The Coffee!!!

Recently I have been in an Internet frenzy, why because The ActiveRain Community is keeping me on my toes!   I joined Activerain in June, I kicked back and observed and finally posted in September without a clue. And now I finally get it!!!  Technology that is... I am self taught but with many teachers, yes, the ActiverRain Community.  I read so much now that I had to buy 2 pair of reading glasses.  People think I am obsessed, that I am not, I just love learning and trying new things. "Technology,  Never-ending Technology."  Always an update or a new program needed.  Embrace it, Love it and "Wake up and smell the coffee."

Mariana Wagner's Post would have been perfect with the training segment I did at our sales meeting last Tuesday.

I happen to receive Mariana's Post by luck.  I have invited many of the associates of our company to ActiveRain. So whenever they see something that is newsworthy, they will send me a link.  I review it and determine whether the info should be forwarded throughout the company and usually with a note attached.   Friday Ana sent me Mariana's post.   My Frenzy became stronger as I reviewed, it gave me the goosebumps, I was overwhelmed with every emotion that exists. What an impact!  This is our reality. Friday afternoon I sent the Video with this note to everyone in our company and our affiliates.

The E-mail read.

It is important that you take the time and view this video.  For those of you sick of technology, sorry to say this, but too bad, it is here to stay.  If you have young children at home or even college bound children it is important to view this, they may not be on the right path simply because you are not aware of the depth of technology and the long term affects.  You will not continue to flourish as a human if you do not embrace it!!   Have a wonderful weekend!!!

I URGE YOU TO VIEW THIS VIDEO.

Truthfully this video should go out to everyone you know and care about.
Consider this:

Hate to admit it but I am 44 years, I have to confess my age to help you understand where I am coming from:

For one of my Christmas presents when I was a kid I asked Santa for an electric typewriter, computer, what's that?

I remember as a kid visiting my family in Deerfield Beach, their house was the only house built, everything around them was vacant land.  Have you been to Deerfied Beach recently?  Boy has it changed.  I don't think there is any buildable lots in South Florida.

When I was a teenager I loved to play Asteroids on Atari, I still love video games and enjoy our outdated X-Box, my favorite game is Astropop, I know get with the times, get your X-Box 360.

When I started real estate I saw the occasional MLS Books. Then came the software and now totally accessible on line. Low and Behold, the Internet.  Pagers were much more popular than cell phones and if you saw someone with a cell phone you automatically thought they were making lots of money!  Now everyone has one and can't live without it.

Oh my, how things have changed!

If you want another eye opener check out these  world-wide Internet usage statistics.

We must do our part to make sure our children receive the education required to keep us all moving forward. I really believe our future depends on it.

Midori, Like it or not, technology is here to stay and we need to "go with the flow". Like the way you put it! You have a wonderful way with words :)

Hi Sally-to me this is the best place to get stat's.  If you go to the website and read where these stat's come from you will see that this is a legitimate site and info is accurate.  My husband is a computer programmer and he recommended that I go there for accurate info.

HI, thank you for this post, I'm going to check out the stats page myself.  I did NOT want a computer in my home, I was terrified of it back in 1990.  Now I can't live without it.....much of the time I'm not sure what I'm doing, but you can bet I'm doing it on the computer :)

Carole-I can relate to everything that you are saying.  Yes I would be so lost without my computer but just like you I did not want one in the house.  My boys changed all that for me when they were in high school they took a computer class and they had homework and yes I had to have one at the house.  Thanks for stopping by and I hope the stats will be useful.
