This is a post for any tree experts out there...

We dug out two trees from my sister-in-law's land up in Tryon, NC and brought them home to Greenville and planted them.

As we drove them slowly down HWY 14, the trees suffered wind damage to their leaves. We did not have that cheese cloth stuff to wrap around the canopy to protect the leaves. We bagged the bottom with the roots and dirt.

We planted them that evening in our yard and mixed in a little growth fertilizer in the dirt. We watered them and have watered them quite a bit since we planted them.

Now, both trees have all their leaves dried up and brittle.

We don't know if they are going to die, have died, or...if we should keep watering and keep the faith that they'll come back! Perhaps we won't really know until next spring?

Any expert opinions out there?
