Is credit repair really legitimate? Can credit scores really be improved dramatically in a few months time? There is so much scam out there it is hard to know who you can trust and if it will really produce the results you are looking for.

I know, I have had many come to my office who have been burned with false promises, high prices and poor results. They are afraid to trust anyone. "Credit Repair" has been given a bad name by those seeking to make money at the expense of their clients.

Most companies want to keep you in their program as long as they can so they can make more money off of you or your clinets. Our goal for eight years has been to get our clients through our program as quickly as possible so they can refer someone else to us. This has worked well for us and our clients. We don't spend money on advertising. Our clients, lenders and realtors become our advertisment. We operate completely on referrals. If we do a good job for our clients they are quick to refer their family and friends. If we do a poor job they tell others as well so it keeps our staff motivated to give everyone a great experience.

I encourage everyone to be sure the company you are going to use has been in business for a while. Be sure they didn't just start and they have a good track record. Go to them if possible and look them in the eye. Most of the time you will pick up on a persons sincerity when you meet with them. Integrity is very important when it comes to credit repair. Not everyone will do what they advertise.

What kind of experiences have you had in the past with credit repair?

There are companies you can trust but you have to be careful in your selection.

AR member Barbara Duncan wrote a great blog about a scam outfit that was highly advertised. Check out here blogs. Worth reading. What a scam!

I use Lexington Law for my clients pretty exclusively, unless they want the resources to do it themselves. I agree there are lots of scams out there.  I always have to tell the story about when I was on the phone with a prospect talking about credit repair. I told he how important it was to check out the company she was considering.  She gave me the name of the company and while we were on the phone, a simple Google search confirmed they were under investigation by the FTC.
