Nice Kitchen cabinets. We don't have basements in this part of Texas. Does it run the whole lengnth of the house? Do basements flood very often?
Sondra - The basement is under the whole house; they don't have to be, but this one is. Almost doubles the square footage when complete.
I have a full basement, not a walk out, in my own home. I have never had a drop of water in it, even with the record rains here in Missouri.
Basements can certainly take on water. I sometimes see water marks in older, historical homes. The newer ones, for whatever reason, technology, more education, rarely show signs of water.
Debbie, Three acres and a brand new home? Does it get any better then that? I think you'll have a quick success with this home.
In our part of the state a dry basement usually means thought went into the design of the area around the home. Walk-out basement do best and a good drainage system and slope to the yard all come into factor. The older homes usually have a sump pump and/or just use the space for storage or storm shelter. Ours is livable space but I have to keep a dehumidifer running in wet weather 'just in case'. - cw
You may want to include the lifetime maintence free metal roof. (As a prior insurance adjuster.......not only should this roof stand up to just about everything......but likely the new homeowner will qualify for a discount on their homeowners roof for having a metal roof) Just a thought.
Wishing you lots of success for a quick sale!!
I love the hardwood floors. Good luck in selling your new listing
Thanks
