Tinkering with all the new goodlies on Active Rain these days could be become a full-time job.  It is so much fun to take a look around and see what others have done and then finally get your own ready for the "official" launch.   The new Active Rain outside blog is just another way for us to connect with our current clients and prospective clients who may be looking for information.

I had an idea sometime ago about my the focus of my "next" blog but due to my schedule I haven't been able to implement it.  So the new AR outside blog gives me a chance to "semi-lauch" until I have time to get back to the full plan.

So I'm proud to launch www.militaryrelocationnews.com using the great tools that Active Rain has provided.

Military Relocation News Header

The header was made by my very talented Virtual Assistant AKA my daughter Kara!

Kara does some great work! I wish my daughter was old enough. I have played with the outside blogs yet but I will be in the near future.

CINDY - I have been letting all of the posts default to the outside blog right now, but I had a similar idea in mind for my relocation information.  Great minds think alike.

Attractive header.  I wish I understood the difference between outside blog and not.  I still haven't figured that out.

Looks great! I have been trying to find a focus for my outside blog but currently it has been mirroring my active rain blog.

Great job!  Quick question, did you double post all of these from your AR blog?  I'm just curious how you have so many wonderful posts so quickly and your thoughts on SEO.

Stephanie-there have been a number of posts about how to set up an outside blog.  I have discovered that the VFlyers are to big for the current template.  So I am going to leave them off for now.

Adam-your relocation posts are great.  The trick is that we all have to go back and individually delete all of the old posts that don't fit, at least if you are doing as we are and targeting a particular audience.

Evelyn-the automatic default when you write a post is for it to go to the new "outside" blog.  It is set up to give you more google juice and hopefully bring more business your way.  I have decided to customize my outside blog and only but specific posts aimed at my target audience on that blog.  Hope that didn't confuse you more.

Diane-when AR set up the outside blog everything automatically was posted.  I'm in the process now of deleting posts that aren't relevant to the target audience.  I'm sure some will slip by but from now on all of my posts won't end up on the outside blog.

Christine-I'm actually going back through all my posts now and taking some of them OFF my outside blog.  I'm trying to have a little different focus for the outside blog.  It will be interesting to see if Google ranks them differently.
